LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock is coming off a 1-1 weekend at the Atlantic Region Challenge hosted by Gannon University. SRU opened the 2025-26 season with a 64-52 loss against the University of Charleston before bouncing back with a 67-55 victory over Davis & Elkins College.
Freshman
Iyanna Wade led The Rock in scoring with 13 points while making 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Sophia Hook and
Kayley Joseph-Bernard both grabbed nine rebounds in the losing effort against Charleston.
Wade again led Slippery Rock in scoring against Davis & Elkins with 15 points and six assists, followed by 14 points from Hook and 11 from
Alyssa Gillin. Joseph-Bernard put in a well-rounded performance with six points, six assists, and nine rebounds against the Senators.

Slippery Rock has a 7-9 record against the Great Midwest Athletic Conference since teh conference was formed in 2011.
SEASON-OPENING ROAD TRIP
The Rock open their season with a three-game trip away from Morrow Field House. The last time Slippery Rock started its season with three consecutive games away from home was in 2022-23, when it played four straight games on the road. SRU finished that four-game trip with a 3-1 record.
NON-CONFERENCE DETAILS

Ryenn Micaletti, SRU is 4-7 during the non-conference slate. The Rock have beaten Davis & Elkins twice, Salem University and Lake Erie.
PERIMETERÂ DEFENSE
Slippery Rock's perimeter defense has been strong to start the 2025-26 season. Through two games, teams are only shooting 22.7 percent from the 3-point line on 22 attempts. Slippery Rock ranks seventh in the 17-team Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in opponents 3-point
CAUSING MISTAKES
Slippery Rock defense has been smothering in the early parts of the season as SRU is forcing 17.5 turnovers per game. The Rock have been able to capitalize off those takeaways as they are averaging 14 points of turnovers per contest.
DISHING THE ROCK
Through two games, Slippery Rock has recorded 13.5 assists per game and are generating assists on 62.8 percent of its field goals.

Controlling the paint has been the key a to victory and defeat for The Rock. In both games so far, the team with more points in the paint came out victorious. Charleston out-gained SRU 40-22 in the paint and The Rock topped Davis & Elkins 36-30 inside.

Hook has been Slippery Rock's most efficient shooter with a 47.4 percent clip from the floor overall on 19 attempts and is a blistering 50 percent from the 3-point line on 10 attempts.
HITTING THE GLASS
Joseph-Bernard has hit the glass early in the 2025-26 campaign. The senior averaged 9 rebounds/game at the Atlantic Challenge. The forward grabbed 8 rebounds per game on defensive glass and 1 board per game on the offensive end.
FIRST POINTS AT THE ROCK
Slippery Rock newcomers Wade and Woods each scored their first points for The Rock over the weekend. The two accounted for 31.9 percent of SRU's points against the Golden Eagles and the Senators.

LAKE ERIE SCOUTING REPORT
The Storm open their season picked to finished 13
th in the G-MAC after coming off a 4-22 season. Lake Erie will have some new faces on the court as it only returns one of its top five scorers from a season ago, although Grace Lyon, the Storm's top scorer in 2024-25 will take the court for her senior season at Lake Erie. Lyon averaged 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest on 40.4 percent shooting from the field overall in 19 games.Â
Noel Weathers is looking to make her impact for Lake Erie after just playing one game last season after transferring from Notre Dame College (Ohio) as the leading scorer for the Falcons. In her final season at Notre Dame, Weathers averaged 13 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in a full 30 game campaign.
Nina Shaffer takes the court as Lake Erie's second highest returning scorer from last year. Shaffer averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
LOOKING AHEAD
Slippery Rock will see its first action at home in the 2025-26 season 2 p.m. Saturday at Morrow Field House versus Glennville State University.
