PSAC WEST TITLE UP FOR GRABS
The match against Gannon marks the penultimate match for Slippery Rock in the regular season. Slippery Rock sits atop the Western Division with 33 points, two points ahead of Gannon. While SRU has already secured a postseason berth, it is still fighting for postseason seeding and a potential division title.

This match will have huge implications on the PSAC West Division title race for Slippery Rock, with Indiana University (Pa.) sitting just five points behind SRU along with the Golden Knights just two points back.

Slippery Rock can claim the PSAC West title on Saturday with a win over Gannon, as The Rock would be five points clear of the Golden Knights and at least five points clear of IUP. The last time Slippery Rock won the PSAC West was in 2019, when it finished nine points ahead of Edinboro for the division title. Also, 2019 is last time Slippery Rock won the PSAC Tournament.

SRU can clinch a home game in the PSAC Tournament quarterfinal round on Saturday with a draw or an IUP loss or draw against California (Pa.). Overall, The Rock just need one point in their last two games, or for the Crimson Hawks to take less than six points in their final two contests.

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
On Wednesday, Slippery Rock was announced as one of 10 teams in the first NCAA regional ranking. The NCAA's regional rankings are the only official ranking used by the Division II Women's Soccer Committee's to determine which teams from each of the eight regions will qualify for the 56-team NCAA Division II playoffs. The regional rankings will be released every Wednesday through the final three weeks of the season until final selections are revealed Nov. 17. This week's rankings were alphabetical, but moving forward they will be put in rank order.

Slippery Rock is looking to make its first apperance in the NCAA Tournament since 2019.

PSAC TOURNAMENT BOUND
Slippery Rock clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament with its 3-1 win over on Oct. 18. This is the 15th season in a row that Slippery has made the PSAC Tournament. SRU won two PSAC Championships in that span in 2012 and 2019. Gannon, IUP and Edinboro join Slippery Rock with clinching spots in the PSAC Tournament from the Western Division.

All five spots in the PSAC East have been clinched with No. 16 West Chester University, Shepherd University, No. 21 Bloomsburg University, Kutztown University and Millersville University claiming spots. Although the seeding order is still to be determined over the final two games of the regular season.

SEVEN-GAME WINNING STREAK
Slippery Rock has now won seven consecutive games, matching the program's longest winning streak over the last five years. Over its seven-game winning streak, SRU is outscoring its opponents 14-1. With a win against Gannon, Slippery Rock would match its longest winning streak since it won seven games in a row in 2023.

APPROACHING THE TOP
With a win or tie against the Golden Knights, The Rock would be on an eight-game unbeaten streak, jumping into the top 10 longest unbeaten streaks in Slippery Rock history.

The program record for an unbeaten streak happened during the end of the 2010 and beginning of the 2011 season, when SRU went on a 16-game unbeaten run. In the 2010 NCAA Tournament quarterfinals, Slippery Rock tied No. 8 California (Pa.) and lost in a penalty kick shootout, but the game officially went down as a draw.

SHUTTING THE DOOR
Slippery Rock's stellar defense has been on display during PSAC West action in 2025, as The Rock have eight shutouts in their last 11 games, while only surrendering five goals in that span. The Rock are currently surrendering just 0.79 goals per game, if that mark stays it will be the seventh fewest goals given up per game in program history.

RECEIVING VOTES
While not in the Top 25, Slippery Rock received votes in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll this week for the first time this season. The last time The Rock was ranked was during the 2021 season when SRU held 23rd spot in the nation. The full United Soccer Coaches National Poll can be seen HERE.
