SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team looks to rebound after a loss to No. 6 Gannon University with a win over Pitt-Johnstown on Alumni Day 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.
Slippery Rock enters the match with a 4-3-0 record overall and a 4-1-0 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division, while Pitt-Johnstown holds a 1-3-3 record overall and a 1-3-1 record in the PSAC West.

Slippery Rock and Pitt-Johnstown first played each other in 2013, which resulted in a 4-0 Rock victory. Slippery Rock won the first nine matches in this series. The two teams have played each other every season since 2013 and have played 16 times total. SRU owns a 13-2-1 all-time record against UPJ and is 6-2-0 at home against the Mountain Cats. Last year, The Rock went 1-1-0 against Pitt-Johnstown, with the road team claiming both games.

BOUNCING BACK AFTER A LOSS
Outside of back-back defeats to start 2025, SRU hasn't lost back-to-back games since 2019. Slippery Rock will look to continue this trend with a win Saturday against UPJ.
LEADING THE ROCK
Salisbury leads The Rock with four goals and nine points. Seven other Rock players have at least a point so far this season.
Paterline has secured three goals in 2025, trailing Salisbury by one.
Sophia Palermo paces Slippery Rock with three assists. Paterline and
Bailey McGee sit at two assists apiece, trailing Palermo by one. Salisbury,

Salisbury leads the charge in shots with 19. Paterline follows the senior with 14 shots. Palermo and Battalini trail the two forwards with eight shots apiece.
Allman leads the Rock in minutes with 630. Doleno and

Allman has been The Rock's starter for all seven games so far this season. The junior from Olmsted Township, Ohio has a 4-3-0 record with a .737 save percentage, while allowing 1.43 goals per game. Allman has recorded two shutouts so far this season.

Senior midfielder
Libby Zacharyasz has been a starter since she arrived at Slippery Rock. In her career, Zacharyasz has started 62 out of the 63 games she has played, including 57 in a row. With a start against Pitt-Johnstown, Zacharyasz will move into sole possession of ninth place in Slippery Rock history in consecutive games started, passing
Faith Diffenbacher (2021-24) and Maddy Tletski (2014-17) in the process.

During her quick start to 2025, Salisbury ranks inside the top 10 in multiple PSAC categories. The senior from Arona, Pennsylvania, ranks 10
th in the PSAC in goals per game with 0.57 and 10
th in total goals with four.
Palermo, a junior from Wexford, Pennsylvania, ranks fourth in the PSAC with two game-winning goals. The two game-winners came in back-to-back games for Palermo against Edinboro and California. Palermo is also among the top players in the PSAC in assists. Palermo ranks eighth in the conference in total assists with three and ninth in the PSAC in assists per game with 0.43.
DIVISION II LEADERS
Along with being among the most-clutch players in the PSAC, Palermo also ranks among the top players in Division II in game-winning goals. Palermo is 25
th in the nation in that category.
PALERMO AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN CATS
Palermo has enjoyed playing Pitt-Johnstown in the two years she has been at SRU. Palermo has scored in each game she has played against the Mountain Cats with one coming off the bench and the other coming as a starter. In addition to her goal scoring, Palermo has put every shot that she has taken against UPJ on goal (5).
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The most recent regional rankings of 2025 have been released by the United Soccer Coaches and The Rock moved up one spot to eighth place in the Atlantic Region. Slippery Rock is one of eight PSAC schools in the rankings. Bloomsburg University, Shepherd University, Kutztown University, West Chester University and East Stroudsburg University represent the PSAC East, while Gannon and IUP join Slippery Rock in representing the PSAC West. PITT-JOHNSTOWN SCOUTING REPORT
The Mountain Cats have struggled out of the gate in 2025. Pitt-Johnstown remained winless in its first six games with an 0-3-3 record but picked up its first win of the season last time out against Seton Hill University. The Mountain Cats currently hold a -9 goal differential, which is a step back from 2024 when they finished the season with just a -4 mark.
Maddie Barrick leads UPJ with four goals and nine points. The only other Pitt-Johnstown player with multiple goals is Sarah Henry (2), who also is tied with Lydia Roman for the Mountain Cats assist lead with two helpers each.
Pitt-Johnstown has seen three different goalkeepers play this season. Emma Morin (4) and Parker Grimm (3) have split starts in goal for the Mountain Cats, while Jordyn Snyder has seen action in one contest. Morin is 1-2-1 with a 2.84 GAA and a .621 save percentage, while Grimm is 0-1-2 with a 1.33 GAA and a .875 save percentage.
LOOKING AHEAD
SRU will head down to Greensburg, Pennsylvania to play Seton Hill in a PSAC West contest 3 p.m. Wednesday.
