LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer goalkeeper Leah Allman was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Allman, a goalkeeper from Olmsted Township, Ohio, earns Slippery Rock its second consecutive PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week and second PSAC Weekly award this season.
 
Allman guided Slippery Rock to a 2-0-0 week, totaling seven saves in two shutout victories against Indiana University (Pa.) and Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Allman made one save in the first half against IUP, before Libby Zacharyasz scored a game-winning goal in the 53^rd minute. After the tally from Zahryasz, Allman made three second-half stops, shutting out the nation's third highest scoring offense to defeat the Crimson Hawks, 1-0.
 
Against Pit-Johnstown, Allman made three saves in 75 minutes of action before Allie Burkholder subbed into the game for the remaining 15 minutes, closing out The Rock's 3-0 win over the Mountain Cats.
 
Allman has started all 13 games for SRU and owns a 0.89 goals against average and a .804 save percentage with six total shutouts on the season.
 
Winners of six straight games, Slippery Rock sits atop the PSAC West standings with a 10-1-0 conference record and a 10-3-0 record overall. The Rock will be back in action 7 p.m. Wednesday at Clarion.
