LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock suffered its first PSAC West loss of the year by way of a 3-0 defeat at Indiana University (Pa.). The Crimson Hawks scored two goals within eight minutes of one another, both coming from Hannah Scardina (22', 30'). Despite getting outshot through the game, 10-9, IUP padded its lead in the 51st minute to ensure a 3-0 victory.

Slippery Rock also managed a 6-3 lead in corner kicks, while Indiana held a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Olivia Yoder placed two of her three shots on net, coming off the bench to join Diffenbacher with producing three shots in the game. Leah Allman made three saves in net for The Rock.

LEADING THE ROCK
Sydney Patrick's four points on one goal and two assists continue to lead SRU. She has also been the most efficient high-volume shot-taker this year, landing five of her seven shot attempts on frame.

Maddie DeLucio, Morgan Sarver and Libby Zacharyasz have each scored one goal for a total of two points. The trio has combined for 28 shots, 37.8 percent of Slippery Rock's offensive production.

Ava Balazentis and Sydney Smith round out the six players with points with one assist each.

Behind Sarver's nine shots in second on the team, Jaime Dermotta has put five of her eight looks on target, coming off the bench in each of this year's five games.

Yoder has also been a reserve offensive asset this year, pouring four of her seven shots on net. Yoder, Diffenbacher and Patrick all have seven shots this season.

THE OFFENSIVE UNIT
Slippery Rock has now outshot opponents in each of its last three games, averaging an 18.0-8.3 difference in that span.

On the year, The Rock have outshot opponents by a 74-62 difference, ranking fourth in the PSAC and second in the PSAC West with 14.8 shots per game. Only West Chester University (19.2), Gannon University (18.3) and Kutztown University (16.7) have had more pressing offenses this year.

FROM THE FLAGS
SRU has averaged 5.8 corner kicks per game, more than any other team in the PSAC West. The Rock took a season-high 11 corner kicks in its 1-1 draw with Seton Hill University and have taken more corner kicks than their opponents in each of the last three games.

Only three PSAC East teams – Kutztown (9.5), Bloomsburg University (7.5) and West Chester (7.0) have won more corner kick opportunities this year in the conference as a whole.

BOUNCING BACK
Slippery Rock has only recorded 18 losses over the past five seasons, but more importantly, has never lost in back-to-back games in that time. Slippery Rock has consistently rebounded well each time, going 12-0-5 (.853) in games following a loss since 2019.

The last time SRU lost twice in a row was in 2018, giving Slippery Rock a 15-2-5 (.796) record in matches following a loss over the last six years.

THE MILES ARE PILING UP
Wednesday will mark Slippery Rock's fifth road game of the year despite it being the sixth overall game of the season. SRU's 2024 schedule is lopsided in that six of the first seven games are being played on the road while seven of the last 10 games will be contested at home.

Slippery Rock is looking to build on a 1-2-1 road record this year and continue an eight-year streak of finishing the year above .500 on the road. Since going 5-5 when traveling in 2014, Slippery Rock has constructed a 44-26-11 (.611) mark when playing on the road.

CLEAN PLAY
Slippery Rock has averaged just 7.6 fouls per game, ranking second in the PSAC West behind Clarion with 7.4.

Four PSAC East teams – Kutztown (6.7), Mansfield University (7.2), Lock Haven University (7.4) and Millersville University (7.4) – all start the year in the top five league-wide.

THE DEFENSIVE THIRD
Slippery Rock's defense has been led by Zacharyasz and Nina King, both playing all 450 possible minutes. Diffenbacher has played all but five minutes with them in the defensive end of the field. The trio has helped SRU limit opponents to 12.4 shots, 6.2 shots on goal and 2.6 corner kicks per game.

Freshmen Jordyn Constable and Kierstyn Maxey have come to SRU's aid defensively multiple times this year, most recently combining for 75 minutes at IUP.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Allman looks to keep her undefeated career record of 2-0 against Edinboro intact Wednesday, carrying a 1.40 GAA and a .774 save percentage on the season.

The sophomore keeper has been making 4.8 saves per game, ranking fifth in the PSAC. Overall, Allman has stopped 24 shots this year.

PRIMED FOR PRIME TIME
Slippery Rock has won five of its last eight games that have featured a kickoff at 6 p.m. or later, stringing together a 5-2-1 record in night games through the past two seasons.

All four of SRU's night games last year came with high scoring, with the games averaging five total goals. The Rock defeated Davis & Elkins College in its season opener, 6-1, before suffering a 5-0 loss at Mercyhurst University two weeks later.

The Rock went 3-1 in night games on the year by capping off its prime-time tenure with a 2-1 win at Clarion and a 3-2 victory at Edinboro.

RECORD WATCH
Patrick currently ranks fourth all-time with 23 assists, sitting behind a two-way tie for second. Meghan McGrath and Karen Kane-Grimes both logged 25 assists in their time at The Rock, while Ashley Paganie leads the way with 26.

Patrick joins Sarver in the top 20 all-time in total shots attempted as well. Patrick has taken 108 total career shots, good enough for 17th all-time. Sarver remains in 13th position with 121 shots.

A spot in the starting lineup Wednesday for Diffenbacher would mark her 44th consecutive start, a feat that only nine other Rock women's soccer players have ever accomplished. King would be starting her 43rd straight game Wednesday, entering a group of 15 players all-time.

Similarly, Allman played her 24th game in goal for SRU at IUP, moving up to ninth all-time in goalie games played. Still a sophomore, Allman is also four saves back from the top 10 all-time, guarded by Annabelle Hegeman with 76.

Senior Reece Enochs is Edinboro's top attacker, stacking up seven points on three goals and one assist. She has scored in three games while placing four of her eight total shots on net. Enochs scored one of Edinboro's two total goals against Slippery Rock last year.

Kylee Cross leads the team in shots with 10. The graduate student from Erie, Pennsylvania has also recorded three assists this year.
