CANFIELD, Ohio –
Anna Igims won the individual title to lead the Slippery Rock University women's cross country team to a third place finish at the Inaugural YSU Alumni XC Meet hosted by Youngstown State University Saturday at the Gorby Family Championship XC Course at MetroParks Farm in Canfield.

Division I Youngstown State won its home meet with a score of 48 points. Slippery Rock and Division III ranked team John Carroll tied for second with 71 points each, but the tiebreaking sixth finisher gave second to John Carroll and slid The Rock to third. Edinboro was fourth with 112 points and Charleston, the defending Atlantic Region champion, was fifth with 137 points.

Igims remained unbeaten on the season after pulling away from YSU's top runner down the stretch to win the 5,000-meter race in 17:49.

Ruthie Hughes took fourth and was the second Division II finisher behind Igims in 18:29.
Jennifer Cichra was 11th in 19:23 as the third scorer for SRU.
Morgan Dennison took 28th in 20:05 and
Maddie Grillo was 33rd in 20:15 to round out the point scorers.

Carissa Flynn was the sixth finisher in 36th place in 20:21and
Hannah Burgoon rounded out the top seven in 56th place in 21:10.
Tatiana Holt was 58th in 21:16,
Caitlin Willer was 65th in 21:38 and
Grace Dahlke was 67th in 21:44 to round out the top 10 finishers.

A total of nine complete teams and 115 individuals completed the course.

Slippery Rock will rest next week before returning to competition Oct. 5 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
