SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University will host a Women's Football Alliance game Saturday, June 8 between the Pittsburgh Passion and the Boston Renegades with kickoff set for 6 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
 
The game will serve as a home game for the Pittsburgh Passion and will mark the second straight season that SRU has hosted one of the home games for the Passion.
 
SRU football offensive assistant coach Lisa Horton serves as the co-head coach and offensive coordinator for the Passion, a position she has held since 2018. She moved into coaching after a decorated playing career that spanned 15 seasons as the quarterback for the Passion. She threw for more than 18,000 yards and 256 touchdown passes on her way to being enshrined in the Women's Pro Football Hall of Fame.
 
Numerous players on the Passion roster attended Slippery Rock University, including Kierra Jackson, Santana Ramsey, Ellisyn Mularski and Nicole Hartman.
 
Horton and the Passion enter the game with a 4-0 record this season and will play host to the Boston Renegades, winners of the last five WFA championships. The Renegades had an impressive 42-game winning streak snapped May 22 with a 36-27 loss to St. Louis in a rematch of the 2023 title game. Boston is scheduled to play New York June 1 before traveling to Slippery Rock to face the Passion June 8.
 
Tickets are available on the Passion website at the link above. General admission tickets are $18. Student, senior and first responder tickets are $12. All children five and under will be admitted free.
 
Slippery Rock's women's basketball team will be running the concession stand at the game with proceeds benefiting their program.
