SRU'S PSAC SCHOLAR-ATHLETES - 1997-PRESENT
 
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - A total of 323 Slippery Rock University student-athletes were recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes for maintaining above a 3.25 cumulative GPA following the 2025-26 academic year, the league office announced Wednesday.
 
Representing Slippery Rock as PSAC Scholar-Athletes in 2025-26 were 192 females and 131 males. The Rock set school-records for total PSAC Scholar-Athletes, female scholar-athletes and male scholar-athletes.
 
More than 81 percent (192-237 / .811) of SRU's female student-athletes finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, while nearly half (131-269 / .487) of SRU's male student-athletes concluded the year with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. In total, 63.8 percent of Slippery Rock's 506 student-athletes ended the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, which is a SRU record since the scholar-athlete program's inception in 1994-95.
 
Slippery Rock ranked second in the conference in terms of percentage of its total student-athletes to earn PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition as well as total number of PSAC Scholar-Athletes despite being fifth in the conference in terms of total student-athlete participation in 2025-26.
 
East Stroudsburg University, which fielded 28 more student-athletes than SRU in 2025-26 (534-506), led the conference with 333 PSAC Scholar-Athletes. Gannon University paced the conference in percentage of student-athletes to earn the honor (.691 / 300-434).
 
Of the 323 SRU student-athletes honored Wednesday, 64 maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
The Rock's stellar year in the classroom comes alongside a strong year of competition that saw Slippery Rock finish fifth in the Dixon Trophy standings as one of the top overall Athletics Departments in the PSAC for the 2025-26 academic year.
 
Across the conference, the PSAC saw a total of 4,135 student-athletes from the 17 league members be recognized, marking an average of 56 percent of the entire PSAC student-athlete population. 12 institutions in the PSAC produced at least 200 scholar-athletes.
