SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Athletic Communication Office has selected track & field multi-event athlete
Logan Anderson and women's lacrosse defender
Paige Jenkins as the 2025-26 RockAthletics.com Athletes of the Year.
Â
Each year since 2020-21, the Athletic Communication Office selects two student-athletes as the Athletes of the Year and displays those athletes on the homepage at RockAthletics.com during the summer months in recognition of their accomplishments from the previous year.
Â
Student-athletes must be at least All-Region honorees in their respective sport (or at least first team All-PSAC in sports that do not select All-Region teams) and must be in good academic standing to be considered for the RockAthletics.com Athlete of the Year honor.
Â
Anderson and Jenkins were both first team All-America selections and were among the very best student-athletes in the country at their respective disciplines in 2025-26. They were also both exceptional students, earning numerous academic awards in addition to their athletic accolades.
Â
Anderson, a sophomore from Edinboro, Pennsylvania, had a breakout second year at The Rock in 2025-26, winning PSAC titles in the heptathlon indoor and the decathlon outdoor and earning All-America honors in both seasons.
Â
He broke the SRU and all-time PSAC records in the indoor heptathlon (5,323 points), recorded the fifth-best score in the country and earned first team All-America honors with a seventh place finish at the Division II National Championships. For those efforts, Anderson was named the PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Year and the Atlantic Region Male Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Â
He followed that up by winning the PSAC decathlon title outdoor after recording the fifth-best score in the nation (7,125 points). Anderson went on to place 10th in at the National Championships to pick up second team All-America honors and complete a season sweep of top 10 showings at the national meets.
Â
Slippery Rock placed second in the team standings at the PSAC indoor and outdoor meets with Anderson scoring 20 total team points for The Rock across the two meets.
Â
In the classroom, Anderson owns a 3.79 GPA while majoring in safety management. He was named to PSAC Winter Top 10 honors, picked up CSC Academic All-District honors and is currently on the ballot for the Academic All-America team. He will also be named as a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a D2ADA Academic Achievement honoree.
Â
Jenkins, a junior from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, became the first SRU women's lacrosse player in program history to be a two-time first team All-American when she was named to All-America honors by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and the IWLCA this spring. Those honors followed PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year and first team All-Region and All-PSAC accolades, which were all repeat awards from a season ago.
Â
She led the No. 1 ranked scoring defense in the country this year and broke the SRU single-season record for caused turnovers with 64 while helping The Rock to allow just 5.57 goals per game. Jenkins also grabbed 73 ground balls and 65 draw controls in 2026 on the way to becoming the only player in SRU history with more than 100 caused turnovers and 200 draw controls in a career. With a year still to play, she already owns the SRU career record for caused turnovers (128).
Â
Jenkins helped Slippery Rock to the best record in program history with a 20-1 overall record, which included the program's first-ever PSAC title. The Rock have set new single-season records for program wins in each of the three years Jenkins has been on the roster, winning 15 games her freshman year, 18 games her sophomore season and 20 games this spring.
Â
In the classroom, Jenkins owns a 3.73 GPA while majoring in marketing with a minor in leadership. She was named to CSC Academic All-District honors and was named to the PSAC Spring Top 10 team. She is also on the national ballot for the Academic All-America team for the second year in a row and will be named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and D2ADA Academic Achievement honoree.
Â
Anderson and Jenkins become the first athletes from their respective sports to earn the Athlete of the Year honor since the inception of the award in 2021.
