LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Athletics Department finished fifth in the 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Dixon Trophy standings, the league office announced Wednesday.

With its fifth-place finish in 2025-26, Slippery Rock becomes the only school in the PSAC to finish in the top five in each of the last seven years in the conference's annual all-sport competition.

The Dixon Trophy is awarded annually to one of the 17 Athletics Departments in the PSAC that has the highest average finish in league-sponsored championships. Each team in each sport is awarded a point value between one and 17 based on its finish in league championships with 17 points going to each sport's champion. Those point totals are then averaged to provide a final score for each Athletics Department.

West Chester earned its first Dixon Trophy since 2018-19 after finishing with an average score of 12.08 points. Gannon, the 2024-25 Dixon Trophy winners, finished second at 11.75 points followed in the top five by East Stroudsburg (11.47), Indiana (Pa.) (10.97) and The Rock (10.88).

Slippery Rock won four PSAC overall titles in 2025-26. The Rock's women's track & field program claimed indoor and outdoor conference championships, while women's lacrosse and women's tennis also captured PSAC titles.

SRU's men's programs were paced by runner-up finishes during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons, providing The Rock with 15 points in each sport.

SRU also compiled at least nine points in six other sports including women's soccer (13), women's cross country (12), softball (11), Football (10.5), men's cross country (10) and men's basketball (9).

The Rock have never finished lower than eighth in the final standings since the award's inception in 1995 and have now finished in the top five 19 times in the 29 years the trophy has been handed out. SRU has claimed the title on two occasions, once in 2007-08 when only the top 12 scores were counted and again in 2023-24 when all sports were counted.
