Rock competing in three different meets this week

Slippery Rock will split its track & field teams across three different meets throughout the state Thursday through Sunday with athletes competing at Susquehanna, Westminster and Bucknell. Meet info and a breakdown of who is headed where is available here.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University will send its track & field teams to three different meets this week with athletes competing Thursday through Sunday at Susquehanna, Westminster and Bucknell.
 
SUSQUEHANNA MULTI MEET INFO
- Dates: Thursday and Friday, April 11-12
- Location: Susquehanna University  |  Selingsgrove, Pa.

Women's Preview: Slippery Rock will send Alison Lamoreaux, Lydia Latimer, Maddy Miller, Lorna Speigle and Leighanne Swan to represent the women's team in the seven-event heptathlon at Susquehanna. Competition begins Thursday and wraps up Friday. Latimer enters the event currently ranked No. 23 among all Division II athletes with a season-best score of 4,284 points, which ranks third in the PSAC. Speigle ranks fourth in the PSAC (4,132 points), Miller ranks sixth (3,915 points), Swan ranks eighth (3,490 points) and Lamoreaux ranks ninth (3,423 point) to give SRU five of the top 10 scores in the PSAC so far this spring.
 
Men's Preview: The Rock will send men's athletes Kyle Adams, Zack Duda, Ethan Folmer and Gavin Thomas to compete in the 10-event decathlon over the two days. All four of those men rank in the top five in the PSAC entering this week, with Duda leading the way at No. 2 in the league with a season-best score of 5,772 points. Thomas ranks third in the PSAC (5,704 points), followed by Folmer in fourth (4,871 points) and Adams in fifth (4,549 points).

- Dates: Friday (hammer only) and Saturday, April 12-13
- Location: Slippery Rock University (Friday) and Westminster College (Saturday)  |  New Wilmington, Pa.

* Because Westminster does not have a hammer cage, Slippery Rock will host the men's and women's hammer throws Friday at the William Lennox Track. The rest of the events will take place Saturday at Westminster.
 
Women's Preview: SRU will send 43 women to the Westminster Invitational this weekend. The Rock's throwers will headline the entries at Westminster, with Sarah Corrie and Tiffany Jolayemi leading the way. Corrie enters the shot put ranked No. 19 in Division II this spring (14.16 meters), while Jolayemi enters the hammer ranked No. 14 in Division II (53.63m). Other top entries at Westminster include Regan Johnson and Thai-Lin Pierce in the sprints, Chaley Younkin and Rachel Veneziano in the hurdles, Kendall Grossman and Allie Taylor in the pole vault, jumpers Aleks Brozeski, Alice Bogia, Baylee Blauser, Cassidy Davis and Paige Griffith and throwers Olivia Heckman, Becca Martin and Savannah Schneck.
 
Men's Preview: SRU will send 45 men to compete at Westminster, including five men that have the NCAA provisional standard in their respective events. Dan Hyatt headlines that list and enters the pole vault ranked No. 15 in Division II (5.00m). Seaton Wozniak (17.11m) and Joshua Gose (17.08m) are ranked No. 16 and No. 18 in Division II in the shot put. Josh Kingerski ranks 25th nationally in the javelin (61.13m) and AJ Virata ranks 30th nationally in the 100-meter dash (10.46). Other top entries at Westminster include sprinters Kanye Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Bryan Dworek and Kyle Rauchut, hurdlers Matthew Crow, Brenden Lewis and Cade Adams, pole vaulters Bradon Schneider and Drew Layton, jumpers Mason Reed, Logan Turton, Taye Lynch and Ian James and throwers Zach Gose and Joseph Reed.
 
BUCKNELL BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC INFO
- Dates: Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14

Women's Preview: SRU will send six women to compete at Bucknell, headlined by Anna Igims, who will race in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Igims currently ranks first in the PSAC and 11th in Division II in the steeplechase (10:45.89). She has her sights set on her own school record of 10:39.07, which she set last year. Maddie Grillo will join her in the steeplechase and enters the meet ranked No. 3 in the PSAC (11:37.10). Ruthie Hughes, who ranks No. 3 in the PSAC in the 10,000-meter run, will race in the 5,000-meter run this weekend. Katie Plassio, who ranks No. 2 in the PSAC in the 5,000m behind Igims, will race in the 10,000m this weekend. Madison Murtland and Jennifer Cichra will both race in the 1,500-meter run and the 800-meter run. Murtland enters the meet ranked No. 5 in the PSAC in the 1,500m (4:51.51).
 
Men's Preview: SRU will send seven men to compete at Bucknell. Ethan Brentham will run the 10,000-meters Saturday night and enters the weekend ranked No.1 in the PSAC (31:18). Joseph Cintavey and Devon Navaroli will run both the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run. Cintavey enters the meet ranked third in the PSAC in the 1,500m (3:55.27). They will be joined in the 800m by both Brady Hoffman and Ryan Corbitt. John Juszynski will race in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where he currently ranks third in the PSAC (9:26.33). Troy Hart rounds out the entries in the 5,000-meter run.
