GENAVA, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track & field team recorded 13 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, one NCAA provisional mark and 13 top-10 finishes at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Ohio.

The highlights of the day for Slippery Rock belonged to a pair of athletes that locked up an automatic qualifying spot for next week's PSAC Championships in their final opportunity of the season.
Ryan Corbitt qualified with a season-best effort in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.25 and
Cullen Birkes qualified in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 4.25 meters.

Birkes was the third SRU athlete to hit at least the PSAC standard in the pole vault.
Dan Hyatt led the way with the lone NCAA provisional mark of the day to finish second with a clearance of 4.85 meters.
Bradon Schneider was seventh with a clearance of 4.55 meters and Birkes was 13th at 4.25 meters.

SRU tallied two more PSAC marks and three more top-10 finishes on the track. The best effort came from
Matthew Crow, who took third in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.25 seconds. That came after he clocked a season-best time of 8.21 seconds in the prelims, missing the NCAA standard by just one-hundredth of the second (8.20).

AJ Virata took fifth in the 200-meter dash in 21.99 seconds and
Kadin Johnson finished fourth in the rarely-contested 300-meter dash with a time of 35.24 seconds.

The Rock's throwers recorded five PSAC marks Saturday with three in the shot put and two in the weight throw.
Seaton Wozniak led the way in the shot put with a fifth place finish and a toss of 16.05 meters.
Zach Gose was ninth with a mark of 14.82 meters and
Joshua Gose was 16th with a toss of 14.17 meters. Zach was also seventh in the weight throw at 16.20 meters and Joshua was 12th at 14.69 meters.

SRU tallied five top-10 finishes in the horizontal jumps with three in the long jump and two in the triple jump.
Bryan Dworek led the way in the long jump with a runner-up finish and a leap of 7.05 meters.
Ethan Folmer was ninth with a mark of 6.60 meters and
Gavin Thomas was 10th at 6.57 meters.

Taye Lynch led the way in the triple jump with a third place finish and a leap of 13.87 meters.
Ian James rounded out the top-10 showings in ninth place with a jump of 13.45 meters.

Saturday's meet marked the final tune-up for Slippery Rock before the PSAC Championships next Sunday and Monday at Lehigh University. A full preview for the conference meet, including a list of all of SRU's accepted entries, will be posted to RockAthletics.com by Friday.
