Anderson earns PSAC weekly award

Logan Anderson was named the PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Week after hitting an NCAA provisional mark in his collegiate debut at Susquehanna last weekend.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University freshman multi-event athlete Logan Anderson was named Monday as the Male Field Athlete of the Week when the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its weekly track & field awards.

Anderson, a first-year student from Edinboro, Pennsylvania, picks up his first career PSAC Athlete of the Week award after making his collegiate debut last weekend at the Susquehanna Early Season Multi.

He won the seven-event heptathlon with a facility record and NCAA provisional qualifying score of 4,922 points, which ranks 14th among all athletes in Division II so far this winter.

Anderson also hit the PSAC automatic qualifying mark in two individual events with a long jump mark of 6.83 meters and a 60-meter hurdle time of 8.47 seconds during the competition.

Last weekend marked the final event of the 2024 calendar year for the track & field program, which will break for the holidays and return to action Jan. 25 at the Ashland Invitational.
