SRU MEN'S NOTESÂ |Â Regional Rankings
• The Rock men enter the meet ranked sixth in the latest Atlantic Region rankings released by the USTFCCCA. SRU is coming off a fourth place showing at the PSAC meet two weeks ago at Kutztown. The top two teams in the region are No. 1 Davis & Elkins and No. 2 Shippensburg, followed by No. 3 Charleston. The next three teams that will attempt to disrupt that trio include East Stroudsburg, Indiana (Pa.) and SRU ranked No. 3-6.
Â
• SRU finished fourth at the regional meet last fall, which marked the program's highest finish since 2012. The Rock sent two runners to the national meet as individual qualifiers with
Joey Cintavey and
Ethan Brentham qualifying.
Â
• This will mark the first time this season that the men will bump up to the 10,000-meter distance. It will also mark the first collegiate race of that length for four of SRU's seven entries.
Â
• SRU has three runners competing that have any experience at a regional championship.
Troy Hart and
Devon Navaroli will run their fourth Atlantic Region meet and
John Juszynski will run his second. The other four SRU entries,
Dom Bumblis,
Ryan Czechowski,
Brady Hoffman and
Eli Schreiber, will be making their regional debut. Czechowski and Hoffman are experienced returners with true freshmen Bumblis and Schreiber earning a start in their first seasons.
Â
•
Troy Hart is looking for his third straight All-Region honor after placing 16th in 2022 and 15th in 2023. Hart could find himself in the mix for a top 10 finish and in the battle for one of the at large individual qualifying spots for nationals.
Â
•
Devon Navaroli is looking for his first career All-Region honor after finishing two spots off the mark last year in 27th. He has placed inside the top 45 in all three regional meets he has run in.
Â
• Hart, Navaroli and
John Juszynski picked up All-PSAC honors two weeks ago with Hart placing fifth and Navaroli placing 15th to earn first team All-PSAC honors and Juszynski placing 23rd to earn second team honors.
Â
• SRU's top five scorers at the PSAC meet two weeks ago were capped by
Eli Schreiber in 54th and
Ryan Czechowski in 60th.
Dom Bumblis was 62nd and
Brady Hoffman was 64th to round out the top seven.

SRU WOMEN'S NOTESÂ |Â Regional Rankings
• The Rock women enter the meet ranked second in the latest Atlantic Region rankings released by the USTFCCCA. SRU is coming off a team title at the PSAC Championships two weeks ago, which marked the first back-to-back PSAC titles in program history. The only team in the region ranked higher is Mountain East Conference champion Davis & Elkins. Behind D&E and Slippery Rock, the next four teams in the regional rankings are the four teams that finished 2-5 behind SRU at the PSAC meet two weeks ago – Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown and Bloomsburg.
Â
• SRU is looking to qualify for the National Championships as a team for the second straight year and just the fifth time in program history. The Rock took second at the regional meet last year behind Charleston, earning a trip to nationals for the first time since 2008. SRU also sent teams to nationals in 1993 and 1995.  Â
Â
• Slippery Rock will send four women with regional experience and three women that will be making their regional debut.
Anna Igims is set to run in her fourth regional meet, while
Ruthie Hughes will race in her third regional and
Jennifer Cichra and
Maddie Grillo will both run in their second regional.
Hannah Burgoon,
Carissa Flynn and
Tatiana Holt will all make their regional debut.
Â
•
Anna Igims is looking for her third straight All-Region honor and her third straight top 10 after taking 10th in 2022 and fourth in 2023. She has been terrific this fall and has yet to be beaten by any Division II runners, including two weeks ago when she won the PSAC meet by 32 seconds and set a course record at Kutztown to become just the second SRU female to ever win an individual XC title. If Igims can pull off a win this weekend, she would become the first SRU female to ever win the Atlantic Region title.
Â
•
Ruthie Hughes is looking for a second consecutive All-Region honor after placing 17th in 2023. Hughes is coming off a third place showing at the PSAC Championships two weeks ago and enters this week looking for a top 10 finish. Â Â
Â
•
Jennifer Cichra makes her return to the regional meet for the first time since 2022 when she was 41st. Cichra also earned first team All-PSAC honors two weeks ago with a career-best 12th place showing.
Â
• The Rock had six runners earn All-PSAC honors two weeks ago for top 30 finishes at the PSAC Championships. In addition to the trio of first team honorees mentioned above,
Maddie Grillo (26th),
Carissa Flynn (28th) and
Tatiana Holt (30th) earned second team honors.
Hannah Burgoon was the seventh SRU finisher and just missed out in 35th place.Â
Â
• SRU and Davis & Elkins have met once in a large invitational this year when they both raced in the Brown Race at Lehigh's Paul Short Run back on Oct. 5. The Senators narrowly edged SRU by just seven points in that competition. With a smaller field this week, the gap between the top two to four teams in the region could be extremely close.
Â
RECAP AND RESULTS
Recaps from both races and results will be posted to
www.RockAthletics.com Saturday.
Â
UP NEXT
