Final Results
ASHLAND, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 16 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, four NCAA provisional marks, four events wins and 15 top-five finishes at the Ashland Invitational Saturday at the Niss Athletic Center.

All four NCAA provisional marks came in the field with two each in the pole vault and the shot put with The Rock winning both events.

Dan Hyatt led the way in the pole vault by topping the field with a clearance of 4.91 meters, marking the second-best height of his career behind a 4.95-meter vault earlier this winter. He was joined in third place by
Drew Layton, who cleared a season-best 4.76 meters to match the NCAA standard.
Bradon Schneider finished in fourth at 4.61 meters to give SRU three of the top four finishers in the vault.

Joshua Gose led the way in shot put with a season-best effort of 16.72 meters to pick up his first win this winter. He led a 1-2 sweep for Slippery Rock with
Seaton Wozniak placing second with a season-best of 16.52 meters as both men met the NCAA provisional mark.
Zach Gose was seventh at 14.54 meters and
Joshua Rohland was 10th at 14.04 meters to give SRU four shot putters that reached at least the PSAC standard in the event.
Zach Gose closed out the top efforts in the throws by also placing sixth in the weight throw with a PSAC mark of 16.02 meters.

Slippery Rock also picked up a win in the triple jump and placed three athletes in the top five there with
Taye Lynch leading the way. Lynch won the competition with a leap of 14.00 meters. He was joined in fourth place by
Ian James at 13.47 meters and
Zack Duda in fifth place with a mark of 13.29 meters.

The final event win came on the track, where
Joseph Cintavey took top honors in the mile with a time of 4:18.07. The Rock's distance runners also got two PSAC marks in the 5,000-meter run with
Troy Hart placing second in 15:19.66 and
John Juszynski finishing fifth in 15:36.06.

AJ Virata led the way in the sprints with a pair of runner-up showings. He took second in the 60-meter dash in 6.89 seconds and was also second in the 200-meter dash in 21.83 seconds. Virata then closed his day by running a leg of the fourth place 4x400-meter relay, where he teamed with
Kadin Johnson,
Vinson Eggleston and
Kyle Rauchut to post a season-best time of 3:18.52. Johnson also met the PSAC mark in the open 400-meter dash with a 12th place finish in 50.43 seconds while making his indoor debut.

The final PSAC marks of the day came in the 60-meter hurdles, where
Matthew Crow led the way in sixth place with a time of 8.33 seconds.
Brenden Lewis rounded out the top efforts of the day in 13th place in 8.63 seconds.

The Rock will return to Ohio again next Saturday for the Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union.
