KENT, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track & field team recorded 11 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, one NCAA provisional mark, one event win and 12 top-10 finishes at the Jud Logan Memorial hosted by Kent State University Saturday.

The Rock were returning to action for the first time in more than a month after a long semester break.

AJ Virara picked up the lone event win for SRU when he won the 200-meter dash in 21.78 seconds, just off his own school record of 21.44 seconds. Virata also placed seventh in the 60-meter dash in 6.93 seconds and ran a leg of the second place 4x400-meter relay, where he teamed with
Kyle Rauchut,
Tyler Morosky and
Jacob Thompson to post a time of 3:19.36.

The lone NCAA provisional mark of the meet came from
Bradon Schneider in his SRU debut in the pole vault. He cleared a mark of 4.90 meters to place fifth in the competition and lead three Slippery Rock vaulters to at least the PSAC standard.
Dan Hyatt was sixth and
Drew Layton was seventh with matching clearances of 4.75 meters.

Rauchut also hit the PSAC mark in the open 400-meter dash to go along with his performance in the relay. He took 11th overall in 50.14 seconds to round out the top efforts of the sprinters.

SRU got a pair of top 10 finishes from the distance unners in the 3,000-meter run with
Troy Hart taking fourth with a PSAC mark of 8:52.56 and John Juszynksi finishing sixth in 8:55.01, just off the PSAC standard of 8:53.00.

Bryan Dworek took sixth in the long jump with a leap of 7.10 meters and
Ian James was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.79 meters to give SRU two PSAC marks in the horizontal jumps.

A pair of throwers capped the day with PSAC marks in the shot put, led by
Seaton Wozniak in sixth place with a toss of 16.09 meters with
Joshua Gose placing seventh with a toss of 15.75 meters.

Slippery Rock will compete in each of the next four weekends at different sites in Ohio, first visiting Ashland University next Saturday for the Ashland Invitational.
