LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 24 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, three NCAA provisional marks and eight top 10 finishes at the three-day Bison Outdoor Classic that wrapped up Sunday night from Bucknell University.

The meet featured more than 140 different teams, including multiple NCAA Division I teams, and had numerous events with more than 100 athletes that competed. Competition began Friday with the multi-events, continued for 16 hours Saturday and wrapped up around 9 p.m. Sunday night after an 11-hour final day.

Slippery Rock was led by its throwers with
John Eakin and
Joshua Gose both recording top five finishes with NCAA provisional marks in the shot put and
Dalton Anderson posting an NCAA provisional mark in the javelin.

Eakin tied for second in the shot put and was the top Division II finisher with a throw of 17.39 meters, just below his season-best of 17.40 meters. Gose took fifth with an outdoor career-best effort of 17.22 meters.
Anderson was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 60.30 meters.
Josh Kingerski also hit the PSAC mark in the event, finishing 20th with a throw of 52.38 meters.

Seaton Wozniak brought home a ninth place finish in the discus to give SRU four top 10 finishes in the throwing events. He recorded a throw of 46.22 meters to lead SRU to two PSAC marks in the event.
Zach Gose was 23rd with a throw of 42.02 meters. The Rock rounded out its qualifying efforts in the throws with a 14th place finish in the hammer from
Brandon McCray with a PSAC qualifying toss of 51.70 meters.
Slippery Rock recorded three PSAC marks in the triple jump and one in the pole vault to cap the top efforts in the field.
Dan Hyatt took ninth in the invite section of the pole vault with a clearance of 4.60 meters.
Taye Lynch was 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.70 meters, while
Zack Duda was 16th at 13.67 meters and
Ian James was 23rd at 13.13 meters.

SRU posted top 10 finishes in both the sprint relays, including the 4x100-meter relay that took third for the highest SRU finish on the track.
Cam Lindsey replaced
Bryan Dworek from the usual "A" team and joined with
AJ Virata,
Kadin Johnson and
Matthew Crow to post a time of 41.22 seconds. The Rock then took 10th in the 4x400-meter relay with Crow joining
Cade Adams,
Alex Dickson and
Jeremy Uher to run 3:19.83.

Crow led SRU to three PSAC marks in the 110-meter hurdles with a 17th place finish in 15.17 seconds.
Brenden Lewis was 26th in 15.41 seconds and
Darien Malawi was 41st in 15.88 seconds.
Kyle Adams also reached the PSAC standard in the high hurdles with a time of 16.16 seconds during the decathlon. Adams took eighth in the mutli-event competition with 5,503 points.
Cade Adams capped the top hurdle efforts with a 26th place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.76 seconds.

SRU recorded five PSAC marks in the distance races and got strong runs from its mid-distance runners.
Shannon Dooley posted a career-best effort of 1:52.90 in the 800-meter run to place 21st overall.
Devon Navaroli ran 3:53.38 in the 1,500-meter run and also ran 1:54.37 in the 800-meter run. The Rock's top efforts in the distance races were capped by a pair of PSAC marks in the 5,000-meter run, where
Ethan Brentham ran 14:54 and
Troy Hart ran 14:57.

The final PSAC qualifying efforts of the weekend came in the sprints, where
AJ Virata led the way with a time of 10.79 seconds into a headwind in the 100-meter dash. Virata took 16th overall, while Lindsey was 24th in 10.90 seconds. Johnson rounded out the top efforts with a PSAC mark in the 400-meter dash in 49.92 seconds.

Slippery Rock will return to action Thursday at home for the second of four home meets this spring with the John Papa Invitational. The hammer throw will begin at 10 a.m. and all other field events and track events will begin at noon.
