Juszynski earns PSAC weekly honor

Slippery Rock distance runner John Juszynski was named the PSAC Male Track Athlete of the Week after posting the top 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the conference last weekend.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University distance runner John Juszynski was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week when the league announced its weekly track & field awards Tuesday.

Juszynski, a senior from Quakertown, Pennsylvania, was recognized for his efforts at last weekend's Carnegie Mellon Invitational hosted by CMU.

He clocked a PSAC automatic qualifying time of 9:30.28 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which is currently the fastest time in the PSAC by nearly 13 seconds.

Slippery Rock returns home this week to host the first of two home meets this spring with the Dave Labor Invitational set for Friday and Saturday at the William Lennox Track.
