A season ago the Lakers swept The Rock with a 3-2 loss in game one and 7-2 defeat to end the day on April 23, 2022.

Kelsi Anderson struck out double-digit batters with 10 in addition to allowing three runs, just one of which was earned, over a complete-game effort in game one of last year's series. Leading the offense for SRU over the doubleheader was Alexsa Hurd who went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI and a home run - the third of her collegiate career.

SRU was led over the two games by Julia Montie who was a combined 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, two walks and one triple over the doubleheader. Arielle Brown was also 2-for-6 with three runs, one RBI and two walks on the day.

THE ROCK OFFENSE
Leading the way for The Rock's offensive attack is Hurd who bats a team best .475 in addition to leading the team in RBI with 35, doubles with 11 and home runs with four. Hurd rounds out her stat line having scored 18 runs and stolen three bases to go along with a .511 on base percentage.

Aubrey Mansfield has posted a successful freshman showing batting .294 with 10 runs, 10 RBI and five doubles as the only rookie this season to have appeared in all 24 games for SRU.

Brown has proven herself to be a stolen base specialist as she leads the team with 14 while also having scored a roster-high 28 runs. Additionally,  Brown bats .292 with six RBI and four doubles this year.

Veteran first baseman Cami Fisk bats .276 with eight runs, 13 RBI and one home run on the season while joining Brown and Hurd as the only other Rock players to have started all 24 contests.

Montie was the first Rock player this year to belt a triple in game one of SRU's doubleheader at California. Montie enters the week hitting .259 with eight runs scored, six RBI, one home run and two doubles.

Erin Garner in 19 starts has hit .233 with 11 runs, four RBI and one double while Regan Hozak rounds out the SRU's regulars batting .146 with four runs, one RBI and one double.

THE SRU PITCHING STAFF
In a rotation high 64.2 innings pitched, Anderson has struck out 80 batters with three complete game victories on the way to an 8-2 record and 2.49 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .202 off SRU's ace.

Hurd (3-1, 3.21 ERA), SRU's most versatile player, has shown success in the circle as well as the batter's box as she has tallied 36 strikeouts over 32.2 innings of work with opponents batting just .183 off of her.

Chloe Sharman (0-3, 7.19 ERA) continues to showcase her skills as a relief pitcher for The Rock as she now has tallied five saves on the season to go along with 15 strikeouts over 23.1 innings pitched.

Claire Zimmerman (0-6, 7.19 ERA) over 24.1 innings of work has registered 10 strikeouts while Mackenzie Borkovich (1-0, 10.02 ERA) rounds out the pitching staff having struck out six over 14.2 innings of work.

ANDERSON RECORD CHASING
Rock pitcher Anderson enters the week third in career strikeouts with a total of 325. Anderson is just four strikeouts away from advancing into second past Brooke Dawson (2015-18) and 11 strikeouts away from becoming the programs leader past Shaylee Ianno (2009-12).

KEEP THE STREAK ALIVE
Hurd continues her streaks at the plate as she now has tallied a hit in 11 consecutive games while reaching base in 14 straight games. Brown joins Hurd having reached base in the last six contests.

MANSFIELD FINDING HER PLACE
In her debut season at The Rock, Mansfield is settling into the line up nicely as in games where she is slotted as the designated player Slippery Rock is 7-4 and when she is in the fifth spot in the batting order SRU is 10-6.

TAKE YOUR BASE
Brown has been vital to Slippery Rock success at reaching base by any means necessary and for the season leads the roster in bases reached via hit by a pitch (6) and walks (17), giving her the team's second highest on-base percentage of .463.
