D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Team

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –
Slippery Rock University softball standout Alexsa Hurd added to her ever-growing list of accomplishments Monday when she was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-Atlanitc Region first team.

The D2CCA All-Region teams are nominated for and voted on by the athletic communication professionals in each region. As a first team honoree, Hurd advances to the national ballot for All-America consideration. The D2CCA All-America Team will be unveiled on May 22.

Hurd earned her spot on the team as the Atlantic Region's top utility-pitcher. Monday's award is just the latest of the postseason for Hurd, who has already garnered first team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region accolades in addition to being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Pitcher of the Year as well as earning first team All-PSAC West utility-pitcher recognition.

The awards from the NFCA and the D2CCA officially make Hurd a two-time consensus all-region selection – she also earned honor in 2023.

The Rock's do-it-all senior leader capped off what was arguably the most impressive career in program history with a dominant senior season in 2025.

The Suffield, Ohio native posted a 17-7 record in the circle with one save, a 3.13 ERA, 243 strikeouts and a .231 opponent batting average over 161 innings pitched all the while batting .292 with 40 runs scored, 16 home runs, 48 RBIs, a .346 on-base percentage and a .643 slugging percentage.

In addition to striking out at least 10 batters in a game on 16 occasions, over half of Hurd's 50 hits on the season were of the extra-base variety with 12 doubles and her 16 home runs. She set single-season program records in home runs and wins.

As to be expected from the top all-around athlete in the region, Hurd ranks among the Atlantic Region's best in a plethora of statistical categories.

Hurd is the Atlantic Region's home run leader in addition to ranking third in strikeouts, third in strikeouts per seven innings (10.6), sixth in RBI per game (0.96), eighth in total RBI, eighth in complete games (18), eighth in total bases (110), ninth in hits allowed per nine innings (6.13), ninth in innings pitched and 18th in slugging percentage.

Hurd leaves Slippery Rock as one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history with four All-PSAC West citations and being a two-time consensus all-region choice. She holds program records for career hits (188), doubles (40), home runs (43), RBI (156), total bases (361) and wins (40) while ranking second in strikeouts (563), second in innings pitched (466) and third in runs (122).

Slippery Rock recently completed one of the best seasons in program history with a 29-21 overall record as well as winning the PSAC West with a 21-7 conference mark and advancing to the PSAC Tournament.
