LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Seventeen members of the Slippery Rock University softball team earned Easton/ National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the organization announced Thursday.
 
The Rock ranked 29th in Division II as a team with a 3.647 cumulative GPA. Slippery Rock's 17 student-athletes who were honored by the NFCA qualified for the award by earning at least a 3.50 GPA in the 2024-25 academic year.
 
SRU's 17 honorees – 73.9 percent of The Rock's roster – ranked third among all Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) institutions and fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference overall. All of the three teams – Gannon, East Stroudsburg and West Chester – which had greater representation on the All-America Scholar-Athlete list also had larger overall rosters than Slippery Rock.
 
Inside the Atlantic Region (PSAC, Mountain East Conference, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association), Slippery Rock's stellar cumulative GPA ranked fourth behind only Mansfield (3.740), Frostburg State (3.704) and Indiana (Pa.) (3.670). On a macro scale, Slippery Rock ranked in the 89th percentile in terms of team cumulative GPA across the entire NCAA regardless of division (106 of 966).
 
The Rock's honorees from this year were Mackenzie Borkovich, Arielle Brown, Sarah Brown, Sydney Brown, Naomi Childs, Ali Giordano, Paige Gresgott, Alexsa Hurd, Olivia Logan, Aubrey Mansfield, Alyssa Massucci, Julia Montie, Julia Nutter, Paige Parker, Alyssa Sheely, Grace Smith and Jeanna Sukey.
 
Not just outstanding students, Slippery Rock also produced one of the best seasons in program history in 2025 with a 29-21 overall record that included winning the PSAC West with a 21-7 conference mark and advancing to the PSAC Tournament.
