2025 CSC Academic All-District Team
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University softball team placed five student-athletes on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

In addition to making up the heart of the lineup for arguably the top team in program history, the quintet of
Arielle Brown,
Alexsa Hurd,
Aubrey Mansfield,
Julia Montie and
Julia Nutter all had their academic prowess recognized as well with CSC Academic All-District Team recognition.
Â
In order to be eligible to earn CSC Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and own a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 while having significant athletic credentials.

Position players must have competed in 90 percent of their institution's total games or started in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games. For pitchers, eligible nominees needed to have pitched at least 25 innings or appeared in 17 games.
Hurd is making her third appearance on the academic all-district team while Mansfield, Montie and Nutter are all two-time honorees. Tuesday's announcement marks the first such citation of Brown's career.

Slippery Rock recently completed one of the best seasons in program history with a 29-21 overall record that included winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division with a 21-7 conference mark and advancing to the PSAC Tournament.

ARIELLE BROWN
Year: Senior
Major: Management
GPA: 3.529
Position: SS
2025 Season: Started all 43 games played as SRU's primary shortstop, hitting .308 with a .458 on-base percentage to go with 32 runs scored, one home run, 20 RBIs and 19 stolen bases. Had nine multi-hit games.

ALEXSA HURD
Year: Senior
Major: Early Childhood Education (Minor in Special Education)
GPA: 3.916
Position: P / 2B
2025 Season: Named the PSAC West Pitcher of the Year as well as earning first team All-PSAC West honors as utility-pitcher and being named a consensus all-region choice by the NFCA and D2CCA. Went 17-7 with one save, a 3.13 ERA, 243 strikeouts and a .231 opponent batting average across 161 innings. Also hit .292 over 49 games with a .345 on-base percentage, .643 slugging percentage, 40 runs, 16 home runs and 48 RBIs.

2025 Season: One of two Rock athletes to start all 50 games. SRU's everyday third baseman hit .309 with 25 runs, one home run and 28 RBIs to go with 17 doubles and a .343 on-base percentage. Posted 16 multi-hit games.

2025 Season: One of two Rock athletes to start all 50 games. Recorded five outfield assists from centerfield in addition to batting .253 with 28 runs, eight home runs, 27 RBIs and a .318 on-base percentage. Slugged 12 doubles while compiling nine multi-hit games.

2025 Season: Started 47 of a possible 50 games at first base while hitting .294 with a .370 on-base percentage and .618 slugging percentage. Hit 12 home runs while collecting 33 RBIs and scoring 27 runs. Totaled 11 multi-hit games.
