ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track and field team recorded 20 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, three NCAA provisional marks and six event wins at the Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union Saturday.

The Rock won three of the five field events they entered and recorded three NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the field Saturday after dominating the shot put and pole vault events.

Slippery Rock went 1-2 in the shot put with a pair of NCAA marks thanks to
John Eakin and
Joshua Gose. Eakin landed his best throw of the season to win the event with a mark of 17.06 meters, while Gose took second at 16.44 meters. They led SRU to a total of four PSAC marks in the shot put.
Seaton Wozniak took fourth at 15.07 meters and
Joshua Rohland was sixth at 14.54 meters.

Dan Hyatt ran away with the win in the pole vault after clearing a career-best 4.76 meters to go above the NCAA provisional mark for the first time this winter.
Jakob Graff also hit the PSAC standard and took third with a clearance of 4.46 meters.

SRU finished the day with a total of eight PSAC marks in the two throwing events after recording four more in the weight throw.
Joshua VanDeMark led the way in third place with a toss of 16.35 meters. Gose was sixth at 15.37 meters, followed by
Brandon McCray in eighth at 15.03 meters and Rohland in ninth at 15.02 meters.

The third event win in the field came in the long jump, where
Gavin Thomas recorded a leap of 6.68 meters to take the victory.

SRU also picked up two individual wins on the track with
Kadin Johnson and
Devon Navaroli each winning their respective events. Johnson took the 400-meter title in 50.80 seconds, while Navaroli led three SRU runners to a PSAC mark in the mile by winning in 4:21.01.
Troy Hart was third at 4:23.56 and
Ethan Brentham was fifth at 4:28.36.

Matthew Crow and
AJ Virata each tallied two PSAC marks on the track with Crow finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.44 seconds and fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.85 seconds. He was joined in the hurdles by
Brenden Lewis, who was fourth in 8.68 seconds. Virata was third in both the 200-meter dash (22.53 seconds) and the 60-meter dash (7.00 seconds).

Shannon Dooley dropped down to the rarely-contested 500-meter run and took second in 1:07.10 and
Ryan Corbitt led the way in the 800-meter run with a fourth place finish in a PSAC qualifying time of 1:59.73.

The Rock closed the day by winning the 4x400-meter relay with
Kadin Johnson,
Shannon Dooley,
Tyler Morosky and
AJ Virata teaming up to post a time of 3:28.43.
Slippery Rock was among the top teams in action at the Jim Wuske Invitational, which featured more than 20 collegiate teams, mostly from NCAA Division II and Division III. The Rock came away with a total of 25 top-10 finishes Saturday. A look at all of those top-10 efforts and all of the qualifying marks can be found below.

SRU will return to action next Saturday at the SPIRE Indoor Games hosted at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
