SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team is set to host Indiana University (Pa.) for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division test and its annual "White Out" game 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Morrow Field House.
"WHITE OUT" GAME
Wednesday's game will serve as The Rock's annual "White Out" game.
Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game and the SGA Bookstore is selling official "White Out" t-shirts for just $5 in sizes small through XL and $7 for 2XL and 3XL. The t-shirts are currently available in the bookstore at the Robert Smith Student Center on campus and a limited supply will be available at the games. Fans can also order a shirt online

The Rock expect to have a lively atmosphere for the doubleheader with a pep band and a DJ scheduled, multiple contests and prizes to give away and performances from campus dance groups during halftime of each game.

Deleah Gibson scored nine of her game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter to lead The Rock women's basketball team to a 61-57 victory over Lock Haven at Morrow Field House while IUP lost on the road at Edinboro, 95-69. Both games were played Monday.

The Crimson Hawks are 61-46 against The Rock dating all the way back to 1921. If SRU were to be victorious Wednesday it would break a 29-game losing streak in the series and be its first win against Indiana since the 2006-07 season.

WILSON CLIMBING WINS CHART
Former assistant coach
Chenara Wilson was named the Acting Head Coach ahead of the 2022-23 season following the unexpected passing of Head Coach Bobby McGraw in early July. In her debut season leading the squad, Wilson has won 10 games, which ranks seventh at SRU in terms of wins by a first-year coach in program history.
A win over IUP would move Wilson into a tie with McGraw for fifth on the list. Kathy Walton holds the record for wins by a coach in their first season at SRU with 20 in 1982-83.
THE ROCK ROTATION
· The Rock's offensive attack is centered around the trio of
Isabellah Middleton,
Deleah Gibson and
Kennedy Middleton as the trio has accounted for 64.5 percent (743 -1,151) of The Rock's points scored this season.
· While in a slight shooting slump as of late,
Isabellah Middleton still leads The Rock in scoring at 16.8 points per game to go with 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.3 assists a night.
· Fresh off one of the best all-around games of her career in the Lock Haven win, Gibson is second for The Rock in scoring with 14.8 ppg to go with 2.3 steals a contest on the defensive end of the floor.
· A key component for Slippery Rock's success,
Kennedy Middleton is one of the more versatile athletes in the rotation as evidenced by her stat line of 13.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting a team-high 41.3 percent from the field.
· After playing a total of just 55 minutes over The Rock's opening 13 games,
Jordan Kauffman has stepped into SRU's starting lineup over the last five games to average 4.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 22.4 minutes per game as a starter.
· Typically known more for her defense and distribution skills than scoring,
Kaylin Venick has scored 20 points over the last three games to up her season average to 3.1 ppg.

Bella Long has made two or more 3-pointers in five of her 14 games played this year. Overall, she scores 5.9 ppg with 54 of her 83 points scored this year coming from 3-point range.

Kelley McKnight has come off the bench as of late. She provides SRU with 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Jada Ward has flashed signs of great potential. The true freshman averages 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals a game through the first 14 contests of her collegiate career.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON HAWKS
While maybe not as dominant as in years past, Indiana is without a doubt still one of the top teams in the PSAC West as evidenced by its 13-4 overall record and 8-4 mark in league games.
Since 2016-17, IUP boasts a 55-13 record in road games and is 56-16 in PSAC West games since the 2017-18 season overall.
Interim Head Coach Craig Carey has relied almost exclusively on his starting lineup this season as Kiera Baughman, Maria Cerro, Gina Adams, Alana Cardona and Teirra Preston all average at least 28.4 minutes per game with Baughman, Cerro, Adams and Cardona all above 32 mpg.
All five starters are double-digit scorers with Baughman pacing the pack at 16.3 ppg. Cardona and Preston combine to average 17.1 rebounds per game.
As a team, IUP ranks third in the PSAC in scoring (73.9), second in rebounding margin (+7.4), third in field goal percentage (.431), third in rebounding (41.8), fifth in field goal percentage defense (.384) and eighth in points allowed (62.7).
