Â
PRODUCTION IN THE PSAC WEST
SRU continues to hold a solid 66-22-9 conference record at home since
Jessica Giegucz's inaugural season in 2015. The Rock has not produced a losing conference record since 1997 including only four total seasons not claiming a winning mark in the division by the end of the year.
Â
NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Slippery Rock has found sustained success in its first conference contest played at home. SRU is 19-4-5 and holds a +34 (65-31) goal margin over the competition in addition to claiming 10 shutout wins and holding the opposition to no more than one goal on 21 occasions.
Â
Under Giegucz, SRU has produced a 32-11-3 record when playing at James Egli Field. In those 46 contests, Slippery Rock has outscored its opponents 114-39 while tallying 17 shutout victories.
Â
Overall, The Rock remains unbeaten at home in 2022, as it has recorded two tie results. A win or tie against IUP would mark the 15th season that Slippery Rock has been undefeated through its first three home contests.
Â
DOMINANT DEFENSE
As a team, Slippery Rock ranks fourth in the PSAC in goals allowed with two. The SRU backline has proved vital in that effort having allowed no goals in the second half of competition through four games.
Â
Continuing to pace The Rock's defense is Yoder who has registered a 0.50 goals against average, .875 save percentage and 14 saves. In the conference, Yoder currently ranks first in goalie minutes played (360:00), tied for second in shutouts (2), fifth in GAA and fifth in saves.
Â
More impressively, Yoder ranks third all-time for The Rock in goalie wins (33), goalie starts (49), shutouts (21) and saves (190).
Â
GOING FOR HISTORY
A shutout against IUP would tie the 2022 Rock team with the second fewest goals allowed through its first five games in program history. The only SRU team to allow fewer than two goals in its first five games of a season was the 2002 team that surrendered just one score.
Â
Slippery Rock also gave up two goals in five games in 2018, 2006 and 2004.
Â
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
Over four games, Slippery Rock's scoring production has been led by
Ashley Rea and
Jaime Dermotta who have tallied The Rock's two goals of the season with one each.
Kylee Kosek remains SRU's only player to have dished out an assist heading into the fifth contest of the season.
Â
SHOOTING FOR THE STARS
Slippery Rock has outshot its competition 35-29 overall, while claiming a 18-9 margin in shots taken over the second half.
Â

Brooke Riefenstahl,

Morgan Sarver ad
Libby Zacharyasz all with one each.
Â
GETTING GOING OFFENSIVELY
