SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team returns home to host Pitt-Johnstown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division contest 12 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.

SERIES HISTORY vs PITT-JOHNSTOWN
Slippery Rock is undefeated against the Mountain Cats as it holds a 9-0-1 mark in the all-time series. SRU is a perfect 5-0 when hosting UPJ and has outscored them by a sizable +32 margin (38-6) all-time.
LAST MEETING

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock played California (Pa.) to a 0-0 draw Wednesday at the Phillipsburg Soccer Field.
Jaime Dermotta paced The Rock's offense with five total shots, landing two on goal.
Yoder claimed her third shutout of the season after making two saves over 90 minutes.
COMFORT IN EGLI FIELD
Under head coach
Jessica Giegucz, SRU holds a 42-14-6 record when hosting its opponents. Through those 62 matches, The Rock has outscored their competitors 132-48 (+104) in addition to claiming 25 shutout victories.
Slippery Rock has remained undefeated during the 2022 season when playing at James Egli Field as it has had three tie results. A win or tie against the Mountain Cats would mark the 11th season that The Rock has been unbeaten through its first four home contests.
PSAC WEST PRODUCTION
Overall, SRU has produced six winning individual conference records since Giegucz's inaugural season in 2015 and holds a 66-23-12 overall mark in PSAC competition.
More specifically, Slippery Rock maintains a strong 40-11-4 (.727) record in conference matches at home and has outscored those PSAC opponents 121-40 (+81) while earning 24 shutout wins.
UNBEATEN STREAK
Slippery Rock is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak, a win or tie against UPJ will be SRU's third five-game unbeaten streak in the past two season as well as mark its third longest since a seven-game winning streak during the 2019 season.
ROCK SOLID DEFENSE
As a team, The Rock are tied for fifth in the conference in goals allowed with just five. The Slippery Rock defense has come up huge when it matters most, holding its competition to just one second-half goal this year.
Aiding in the strong defensive efforts is Yoder, the most recent PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week, who ranks third in the conference in saves (27), sixth in goals against average (0.71) and 10th in save percentage (.844). Yoder has claimed three shutouts so far this year.
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
Leading the SRU offensive attack is Swope with three points on one goal and one assist. Following are four players who have also tallied a goal this year in Dermotta,
Faith Diffenbacher,
Ashley Rea, and
Brooke Riefenstahl.
Rounding out the offense is
Sydney Patrick with two assists as well as
Kylee Kosek and
Julia Mascaro with one assist each.
The SRU offense has been solid at making scoring opportunities as it ranks 13th in all of Division II in corner kick attempts.
SHUTOUT HISTORY
A shutout against the Mountain Cats would mark just the ninth season in program history that Slippery Rock has allowed only five goals through its first eight contests. The 2018 team allowed the fewest over its first eight games with just two goals.
PROGRAM HISTORY UPDATES
With her two saves against the Vulcans, Yoder advanced to second in program history in saves (203), past Dana O'Neill (2009-13). For her career, Yoder also ranks third in goalie wins (33), starts by a goalie (52) and shutouts (22). She currently ranks eighth in Rock women's soccer program history in consecutive games started and with 11 regular season games remaining, she is on pace to finish her collegiate career fourth all-time.
Swope is currently tied for 12th in career assists and is just two away from advancing past Danielle Cooper (2005-07) for 11th.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN CATS
Last time out: Pitt-Johnstown earned a 1-0 shutout victory against PSAC West opponent Clarion on the road.
The Mountain Cat offense is led by Emily Esser and Haley Neidig with two goals apiece, while Morgan Kost rounds out the attack with one goal and one assist.
A season ago, Esser, Neidig and Kost all contributed one goal each in SRU and UPJ's 3-3 draw.
UPJ starting goalkeeper Sachi Negri ranks first in the PSAC in saves (39) and saves per game (6.50) while being tied for fifth in the conference in save percentage (.867) to go along with a 1.00 GAA.
