NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 11 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks and three event wins at the Westminster College Invitational Saturday.

The Rock picked up wins and PSAC automatic qualifying marks from AJ Virata in the 200-meter dash (21.83 seconds), Ethan Brentham in the 10,000-meter run (33:04.68) and Dalton Anderson in the javelin (57.84 meters).

Anderson was joined by Dylan Close, who took fourth in the javelin with a PSAC mark of 54.54 meters to account of two of the four PSAC marks SRU hit in the throws this weekend. Joshua VanDeMark took second in the hammer with a throw of 54.13 meters and Brandon McCray was fourth with a throw of 47.42 meters.

Brenden Lewis took second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.25 seconds and Anderson followed in third at 15.91 seconds as both men finished inside the PSAC mark.

Dan Hyatt finished third in the pole vault with a PSAC clearance of 4.42 meters and Jason Goodman took fourth in the high jump with a PSAC mark of 1.85 meters.

The final PSAC mark on the track came from Troy Hart, who placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run in 15:31.26, shaving nearly 40 seconds off his personal best.

Other top three finishes by The Rock this weekend included Jonathan Marfisi placing second in the 100-meter dash (11.29 seconds) and Cade Adams finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles (58.18 seconds).

Slippery Rock will shift its focus to the three-day Bison Outdoor Classic next week at Bucknell University. Competition begins in the multi-events Thursday and continues on the track and in the field on Friday and Saturday.
