LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER
Friday's meet will mark the last chance to SRU athletes to improve their season-bests or hit automatic qualifying marks for the PSAC Championships, which will take place next Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro. All individuals that reach the PSAC automatic standards (linked below) will be accepted to the championship meet. Any events that do not have 16 individual qualifiers will fill the field with the next best marks in each event. The top 12 relays will be accepted and the top 14 multi-event scores will be accepted. SRU MEN'S PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 25 men to Edinboro Friday to compete in 12 different events.

Many of The Rock's entries this weekend have already locked up a spot in the PSAC Championships, including three men that own the league's top mark. John Eakin enters this meet ranked first in the league in the shot put (16.86m), Dan Hyatt owns the top mark in the pole vault (4.57m) and Jason Goodman ranks first in the heptathlon (4,967). Goodman also has PSAC automatic marks in the long jump, pole vault, high jump and 60-meter hurdles.

Men that will be looking to improve their marks this weekend include sprinters Parker Reed and Jonathan Marfisi, who enter the weekend ranked 18th and 20th in the 200-meter dash. Reed (22.80) and Marfisi (22.82) are both in reach of the PSAC standard (22.70) in the 200m. They are also both agonizingly close to the standard of 7.10 seconds in the 60-meter dash, with Reed owning a season-best of 7.13 seconds and Marfisi owning a best of 7.18 seconds.

Mason Reed enters the weekend ranked 20th in the PSAC in the long jump (6.52m) and will need a mark of 6.60m to earn a spot in the PSAC meet.

Conner Huntzberry enters the meet ranked 15th in the pole vault at 3.86 meters, which is below the automatic mark of 4.20 meters.

Brandon McCray currently sits in a qualifying spot in the weight throw, ranking 14th in the PSAC at 14.29 meters. He can guarantee that position if he reaches 15.00 meters or stays in the top 16.

Troy Hart enters the weekend with a season-best of 4:33 in the mile. He will need to shave four seconds off that mark to get under the qualifying time of 4:29.00.

Cecily Greggs leads that category and enters the high jump this weekend ranked first in the PSAC with an NCAA provisional mark of 1.68 meters. Ashanti Richardson owns the second-best time in the 60-meter hurdles (9.24). Marianne Abdalah will not race this weekend, but owns the third-best 5,000-meter time in the league (17:37). Jamie Macecevic ranks third in the pole vault (3.67m) and Morgan Donatelli ranks third in the 400-meter dash (57.45).

SRU has a number of entries this weekend that are currently in a PSAC qualifying position but have yet to meet the automatic standard or are just on the outside looking in.

Haley Morgan (8.06), Asia Murray (8.06) and Rayna Stevenson (8.08) enter the meet ranked 14th, 14th and 16th in the 60-meter dash and can guarantee a spot in the PSAC meet if they improve those times to under the standard of 8.00 seconds. Stevenson also ranks 13th in the 200m (26.30), just off the standard of 26.00 seconds. Samantha Gilbert is already in the 60-meter dash at the PSAC meet, but sits 20th on the 200m list (26.61).

Gilbert is also 12th on the long jump list at 5.23 meters, just below the automatic qualifying mark of 5.30 meters. Olivia Kerstetter (5.17m) and Aleks Brozeski (5.15m) rank 13th and 15th and are in the same spot as Gilbert in the long jump. Brozeski is in a more comfortable spot in the triple jump, where her 10.96m jump ranks seventh in the league. Ashanti Richardson ranks 15th at 10.65m.

Allison Rennette and Lexie Firment are both just outside the qualifiers for the 800-meter run. Rennette sits 17th at 2:26.36 with Firment in 20th at 2:27.31. Anna Igims is just over three seconds off the qualifying mark in the mile with her season-best of 5:28.72.

Chaley Younkin enters the meet in a PSAC qualifying spot in both the 60-meter hurdles (12th, 9.53 seconds) and the high jump (ninth, 1.56m), but has yet to meet the PSAC standard in both events. Emma Fox currently sits 16th in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.65 seconds, two-tenths off the PSAC mark.

In the weight throw, both Tiffany Jolayemi and Rachel Hutchinson are currently on the outside looking in. Jolayemi ranks 17th in the league at 13.79 meters, while Hutchinson is 19th at 13.69 meters. The PSAC automatic mark is 14.00 meters.
