• The top two individuals not on a qualifying team will qualify for the National Championships.
• Any individuals in the top five overall that are not part of a qualifying team will qualify for the National Championships.

ALL-REGION AWARDS
• The top 25 finishers in each race are declared All-Region by the USTFCCCA.
Â
SRU MEN'S ENTRIES
Ethan Brentham
Tucker Davis
Shannon Dooley
Troy Hart
Noah Johnson
John Juszynski (alternate)
Devon Navaroli
Michael Novak
Â
SRU MEN'S NOTES
• Each team is only allowed to run seven individuals in the competition. SRU has entered eight men with
John Juszynski traveling as an alternate.
Â
• The men's entry list includes entries from 26 different colleges in the region. The Rock men enter the meet ranked sixth in the latest Atlantic Region rankings released by the USTFCCCA. Slippery Rock trails Charleston, Edinboro, Concord, Shippensburg and Davis and Elkins in the regional rankings.
Â
• SRU has not finished higher than fifth at the regional meet since a fourth place showing in 2012. The Rock have been fifth three times since then, including last fall. SRU has not qualified a full men's team for the national meet since the 2007 squad placed second at regionals. The last individual male SRU sent to the national meet was Jeremy Parsons, who qualified three years in a row and ran at nationals in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Â
• SRU is coming off a fifth place finish at the 2021 regional championship, which marked its highest finish in six years, and returns four of its five scorers from last fall. Headlining that list is
Ethan Brentham, who earned All-Region honors for the first time in his career with a 23rd place showing last fall.
Â
• Brentham was one of three SRU runners to place in the top 10 at the PSAC Championships two weeks ago on the same course.
Troy Hart led SRU in that meet with a fifth place showing, while Brentham took eighth and
Shannon Dooley was 10th.
Devon Navaroli followed in 19th to give SRU four All-PSAC runners. The Rock's fifth scorer was
Tucker Davis at the PSAC meet.
Â
• Those five will be joined Saturday by
Noah Johnson and
Michael Novak, who have both been in the scoring lineup this year previously.
Â
• This will mark the longest meet of the season for SRU with the regional meeting bumping up to 10,000-meters after most of the races this fall were run at 8,000-meters.
Â
SRU WOMEN'S ENTRIES
Marianne Abdalah
Jennifer Cichra
Ruthie Hughes
Anna Igims
Steph Keelon
Madison Murtland
Katie Plassio
Marie Scarpa (alternate)
Â
SRU WOMEN'S NOTES
• Each team is only allowed to run seven individuals in the competition. SRU has entered eight women with
Marie Scarpa traveling as an alternate.
Â
• The women's entry list includes entries from 26 different colleges in the region. The Rock women enter the meet ranked fifth in the latest Atlantic Region rankings released by the USTFCCCA. Slippery Rock was second in the rankings heading into the PSAC Championships two weeks ago, but a fourth place showing their dropped The Rock down to fifth this week. SRU trails Charleston, Edinboro, Seton Hill and Lock Haven in the rankings. Â
Â
• Charleston enters the meet as favorites and has been ranked atop the regional rankings for most of the fall. It is expected to be a five-team battle for the three National Championship qualifying spots between Charleston and the PSAC's top four teams in Edinboro, Seton Hill, Lock Haven and Slippery Rock. It could be single-digit points that separate which teams go to nationals as the teams are extremely close on paper.
Â
• SRU has not finished in the top five in the team standings at regionals since a fifth place showing at the 2015 championships. The Rock have not cracked the top three since a third place finish in 2010 and have not qualified for the national meet as a team since 2008. SRU has made three total appearances as a team at nationals with trips in 1993, 1995 and 2008. Â
Â
• SRU is coming off a fourth place finish at the PSAC Championships two weeks ago on the same course after an injury to one of its leading scorers hampered any chances at a PSAC title.
Â
• The Rock were led at that meet by
Marianne Abdalah, who took third overall to earn first team All-Conference honors. Abdalah was the runner-up at last year's regional meet and is trying to become the first SRU woman to qualify for back-to-back trips to nationals since Jennifer Harpp qualified in 2009 and 2010.
Â
• SRU also got All-PSAC runs from
Anna Igims and
Katie Plassio two weeks ago, while the freshmen duo of
Ruthie Hughes and
Jennifer Cichra rounded out the scorers.
Madison Murtland has been a scorer all year, but struggled with injury two weeks ago. Murtland is expected to race Saturday and will be joined by
Steph Keelon to round out the SRU lineup. Â
Â
RECAP AND RESULTS
Recaps from both races and results will be posted to
