ALL-TIME SERIES vs. NOTRE DAME
Slippery Rock holds a nearly perfect 4-1 lead over Notre Dame in the all-time series. SRU is 1-1 when traveling to South Euclid, Ohio. A win against NDC on the road Wednesday would be The Rock's first since their 62-57 defeat of the Falcons Dec. 28, 2011.
 
LAST MEETING
SRU battled NDC to a 77-71 overtime victory Nov. 27, 2021 at Morrow Field House. Jamiyah Johnson led Slippery Rock with a 22-point, 14-rebound double-double in addition to dishing out five assists and blocking two shots. SRU had four other players finish the game scoring double-digits in Kennedy Middleton (14), Isabellah Middleton (14), Daeja Quick (14) and Anyah Curd (10).

• Slippery Rock opened the 2022-23 season 1-1 with an 82-67 loss to Lincoln University and a 79-75 win over Davis & Elkins at the PSAC/MEC/CIAA Challenge in Indiana, Pennsylvania last weekend.
 
• The Rock's 79-75 defeat of Davis & Elkins was the first career win for Acting Head Coach Chenara Wilson.
 
• Isabellah Middleton was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week after tallying 8.0 defensive rebounds and 2.5 assists per game to start the year.

EARLY PSAC LEADERS
As a team, Slippery Rock ranks among the top five in all the PSAC in three categories as it is tied for second in 3-pointers made per game (8.5) in addition to being fifth in both points per game (73.0) and defensive rebounds per game (27.0).
 
Individually, Long, Isabellah Middleton and Kennedy Middleton and Emily Venick rank among the top seven in the PSAC West in numerous categories.
 
Isabellah is third in rpg (9.5), sixth in ppg (17.0) and tied for sixth in steals per game (2.5). Kennedy enters the week second in 3-point percentage (66.7), seventh in field goal percentage (52.6) and tied for seventh in ppg (16.5). Long is fifth in the PSAC West in 3-point percentage (50.0). Venick rounds out SRU's divisional leaders at second in assist to turnover ration (3.5).
 
MAKE WAY FOR THE MIDDLETONS
The Middleton sisters showcased their versatility over opening weekend in addition to leading the way for the SRU offense. Through two contests the duo combined for 45.9 percent (67-of-146) of The Rock's points, 41 percent (32-of-78) of their rebounds, 50 percent (9-of-18) of their steals and 34.4 percent (11-of-32) of their assists.
 
Both Isabellah Middleton and Kennedy Middleton recorded their first career double-doubles in Slippery Rock's win over Davis & Elkins. Isabellah ended the contest with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Kennedy tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kelley McKnight came up just short of joining the pair in double-doubles as she recorded eight points and eight rebounds against the Senators.
 
Isabellah Middleton collected five steals against Lincoln in just the first quarter alone setting a new single-quarter program record for steal since women's basketball made the switch to four quarters during the 2015-16 season.
 
LONG-BALL THREAT
Long, a redshirt sophomore guard, posted a solid performance coming off the bench against D&E. Long ended the contest having claimed new career-highs of 24 points, five made 3-pointers, five rebounds and two steals.
 
ROUNDING OUT ROCK LEADERS
Rounding out Slippery Rock's early leaders are Deleah Gibson (11.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg), Kristina Donza (4.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg), Kelley McKnight (7.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg), Emily Venick (3.5 apg, 2.5 rpg), Jada Ward (2.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg) and Alyssa Gillin (2.0 ppg, 1.0 rpg).
 
APPLYING PRESSURE
SRU exhibited great ball pressure to open the season as it forced each of its opponents in to at least 25 turnovers including making a total of 18 steals over two games. Five players averaged at least one steal per game in Isabellah Middleton (2.5), Kennedy Middleton (2.0), Donza (1.5), Gibson (1.5), Long (1.0) and Kaylin Venick (1.0).
 
THE EARLY ROTATION
The Rock featured a consistent starting line-up of Gibson, McKnight, Venick, Isabellah Middleton and Kennedy Middleton over opening weekend.
 
Over two games, Slippery Rock showcased a short bench as just eight players saw time in both contests including Donza, Gibson, Long, McKnight, Ward, Venick, Isabellah Middleton and Kennedy Middleton.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Last time out: NDC suffered back-to-back losses of 92-72 to Edinboro and 70-58 against Gannon University in the Conference Challenge hosted by Gannon last weekend.
 
The Falcons have shot 38.7 percent from the field overall, 34.6 percent from 3-point range and 74.5 percent from the foul line scoring 65.0 ppg. Notre Dame has grabbed 32.0 rpg while dishing out 7.5 apg.
 
The NDC offense is led by Alana Ellis who alone has accounted for a quarter of the team's points tallying 17.0 ppg while collecting 4.5 spg and 2.0 rpg. Remaining Falcon players who average double digits are Marina Adachi with 13.0 ppg and Lilee Carlson collecting 11.0 ppg.
 
UP NEXT
Slippery Rock ends its four-game road trip when it travels to Ursuline College for a non-conference game 2 p.m. Saturday in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
