SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team hosts Gannon University in a "Pink Out" for its Breast Cancer Awareness game 4 p.m. Wednesday at James Egli Field.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME PINK OUT
The Slippery Rock women's soccer team announced that Wednesday's contest will be a "Pink Out" for Breast Cancer Awareness, all fans are encouraged to wear pink for the match.
Prior to the contest, recognition will be given by the players to loved ones who have been impacted by breast cancer.

SERIES HISTORY vs GANNON
Slippery Rock holds a slight 14-13-2 lead in the all-time series over Gannon. The Rock are 9-5 when hosting the Golden Knights and have not lost to Gannon at James Egli field since a 1-0 defeat in 2017.
LAST MEETING
Earlier this season, SRU was edged, 1-0, by Gannon on the road Aug. 31. SRU's offense was led by
Ashley Rea who placed both of her shots of the evening on goal.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock beat Seton Hill, 1-0, on the road Oct. 1 in the two teams second meeting this season.
Jaime Dermotta led the way for the SRU attack netting the game's lone goal while
Morgan Sarver recorded an assist. Yoder tallied her 25th career shutout after making three saves over 90 minutes of action.
SHUTOUT SEASON
Slippery Rock collected its sixth shutout of the year last Saturday over Gannon. SRU is just two shutouts away from claiming its fifth consecutive season with at least eight shutouts.
Additionally, The Rock has held their opponents to no goals in three consecutive games for the first time since the end of the 2018. Allowing no goals against Gannon would match SRU's most recent shutout streak of four from 2018.
PSAC WEST WARRIORS
Slippery Rock has produced six winning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division records since head coach
Jessica Giegucz's inaugural season in 2015 and holds a 68-24-12 (.653) overall mark in conference competition.
More specifically, SRU maintains a solid 41-12-4 (.719) record in divisional matches at home and has outscored those PSAC opponents 126-42 (+84) while earning 25 shutout wins.
DEFENSE WINS GAMES
As a team, The Rock are tied for fourth in the conference in goals allowed with just seven. Slippery Rock continues to dominate defensively through the conclusion of contests holding its competition to just one second-half goal this year.
SRU has just two games this season in which it has allowed more than one goal. If The Rock holds Gannon scoreless Wednesday it will mark the first time since the 2014 season in which they have allowed only seven goals over their first 12 matches.
Supporting the strong defensive efforts is Yoder who is third in the conference in saves (44) and save percentage (.863) in addition to being fourth in the PSAC in goals against average (0.64). In all of Division II, Yoder ranks sixth in shutouts with six.
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
Leading the Slippery Rock offense is
Kayla Swope with six points on two goals and two assist. Rea follows with five points on two goals and one assist then Dermotta with four points on two goals.
Six other Rock players have netted a goal this year in Sarver,

Maddie DeLucio,
Skylar Munnikhuysen,
Sydney Patrick and
Brooke Riefenstahl.
Rounding out the offense is
Julia Mascaro with a team-high three assists while Patrick (2)
Kylee Kosek (2), DeLucio (1) and Sarver (1) have each produced at least one assist this season as well.
The Rock's offense continues to be among the leaders in all of DII in corner kicks as they are fifth with 78.
PSAC STANDINGS CHECK
Currently on a three-game winning streak, SRU has gained sole possession of fifth in the PSAC West standings with 13 points. The top four teams in both the PSAC West and PSAC East standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament.
Slippery Rock is now just one point away from a tie for fourth in the division with Pitt-Johnstown. With seven regular season games remaining, The Rock is in good position to earn themselves a 12th consecutive trip to the PSAC Tournament.
PROGRAM HISTORY HORIZONS
Yoder, SRU's all-time leader in saves (220), also ranks tied for second in starts by a goalie (56) in addition to being third in goalie wins (36), and shutouts (25). She currently ranks eighth in Rock women's soccer program history in consecutive games started and with seven regular season games remaining, she is on pace to finish her collegiate career fourth all-time.
Swope is tied for 11th in career assists with 16 and is just one away from advancing past Danielle Cooper (2005-07) for sole possession of 11th.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Last time out: Gannon defeated Indiana University (Pa.), 2-0, at home Oct. 1 to remain undefeated at the McConnel Family Stadium.
Pacing the Golden Knight offense is Sarah Fails who is tied for second in the conference in goals with six to go along with three assists. Following is Ella Fadale who enters Wednesday tied for seventh in the PSAC in goals with four in addition to having one assist.
Kennedy Solymosi has seen the most time in goal for Gannon making eight starts and nine appearances. Over nine games Solymosi carries a 1.10 GAA, .833 save percentage and has 40 saves.
Earlier this season, Fails scored the game-winning goal in the Golden Knights 1-0 win over The Rock. Sam Dales had one assist and Solymosi tallied two saves over 90 minutes in the Gannon shutout.
