SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock suffered a 3-1 loss to California (Pa.) Oct. 19 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. SRU's scoring was produced by Morgan Sarver who tallied her second goal of the year in her debut season. Both Mascaro and Faith Diffenbacher ended the contest with one assist. Yoder made three saves in goal for The Rock over 90 minutes.

POST SEASON PUSH
The top four teams from both the PSAC West and East at the end of the regular season each earn a bid into the PSAC Tournament. The tournament picture will come into better focus following Saturday's results as there are still five teams vying for the final two spots in the Western Division

In the PSAC West standings Gannon (28) and Mercyhurst (28) have already clinched spots in the PSAC Tournament while Seton Hill (21), Slippery Rock (19), California (17), Pitt-Johnstown (15) and Indiana (13) are all still mathematically alive for the final two spots in the divisional standings.

Slippery Rock is in search of its 12th consecutive visit to the PSAC Tournament.

SOARING SARVER
Sarver has found her role atop the SRU attack as she has now contributed to The Rock's scoring efforts in two consecutive matches. Sarver dished out an assist in Slippery Rock's win over Pitt-Johnstown on Oct. 15 and scored SRU's lone goal in its loss to Cal on Oct. 19.

After opening the season with neither a goal or assist over the first seven contests, she has now had at least one in four of the last nine matches.

DOMINANT DEFENSE
The Slippery Rock defense remains atop of the conference leaders in goals allowed with the seventh lowest amount (12). SRU has only surrendered two or more goals in three of its 16 matches this season. Additionally, The Rock backline has proven tough over the final 45 minutes of contests, allowing only three total second-half goals this year.

Leading the way for such a solid defense is Yoder, the program's all-time leader in saves (239), who is among the leaders in the PSAC at fourth in saves (63), fifth in goals against average (0.77) and sixth in save percentage (.838).

As a team, SRU has compiled the fifth best save percentage in the conference (.843). The Rock defense has made five team saves by players other than Yoder. Notable defenders for SRU who have proved key in those efforts include Riefenstahl, Diffenbacher, Nina King and Libby Zacharyasz, who all have started at least 15 games on the SRU backline.

A LOOK AT THE OFFENSE
Rea remains Slippery Rock's leading scorer with nine points on four goals and one assist. Following are Sarver and Swope who share identical stat lines of six points on two goals and two assists. The trio have accounted for 52 percent (54-of-103) of The Rock's shots on goal this year.

Jaime Dermotta is SRU's last player to have tallied more than one goal this season with two. Rounding out goal scorers for The Rock are seven other athletes in DeLucio, Diffenbacher, Patrick, Riefenstahl, Zacharyasz, Skylar Munnikhuysen and Olivia Yoder.

Mascaro enters the weekend with a team-high five assists while Patrick and Kylee Kosek each have two and DeLucio and Diffenbacher tally one apiece.

The Rock offense proves solid at prompting scoring opportunities as it ranks fourth in all of Division II in corner kicks (120).

TOUGH AT HOME
Nearing the end of the regular season, Slippery Rock continues to claim a winning record as hosts, having lost just two contests. Under head coach Jessica Giegucz SRU is 43-17-8 when welcoming its competitors. Through those contests The Rock have outscored their opponents by a +84 margin (139-55) and have claimed 25 shutout wins.

SOLID AT THE BOUNCE-BACK
The Rock are no strangers to bounce-back wins as they have not suffered back-to-back losses since the 2018 season when they fell 2-1 to Seton Hill and 2-0 to PSAC East opponent East Stroudsburg.

WINNING SEASON PENDING
As a program, Slippery Rock is just one win away from having earned its 26th consecutive season with a winning record. The last time SRU was unable to conclude the year with a winning record was in 1995.
