SLIPPERY ROCK Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team looks to extend its winning streak to three-straight as it hosts Edinboro University for a key Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division matchup 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at James Egli Field.

LAST MEETING
The Rock defeated Edinboro 2-1 Nov. 17, 2019 to claim its first PSAC Tournament title since 2012. Sofia Harrison and Kayla Swope each scored goals for SRU while Emma Yoder, the PSAC Tournament MVP, made five saves securing the victory.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: The Rock won 3-0, recording its second consecutive PSAC West road win at California University Sept. 25. Georgia Nagucki tallied two goals, one from a free kick, while Jordyn Minda scored a goal of her own.
 
CLEAN SHEET IN THE SECOND HALF: Slippery Rock is yet to allow a goal in the second half of games this season. Conversely, The Rock's offense has been at their best in the final 45 minutes with 15 of their 21 goals in 2021 occurring in second half.
 
MAKE ROOM FOR MINDA: Minda, the reigning PSAC West Athlete of the Week, has continued to make her mark on The Rock offense as an asset during the recent two-game road swing. In two contests last week, Minda posted three points on a goal and an assist while placing three of six shots on goal. Minda opened the week by assisting on The Rock's only goal as part of a 1-0 win vs. IUP before scoring a goal of her own in SRU's 3-0 shutout at Cal U.
 
TOTAL OFFENSE: Leading the way for SRU's offensive attack are Rachel Edge and Kayla Swope. Edge continues to lead the PSAC in goals (7) and points (17). Swope's remains the leader in the PSAC in assists (5) while landing second in the conference in points (13).
 
Rounding out SRU's goal scorers this year are Minda and Nagucki with three apiece as well as four other Rock athletes with one goal each including Faith Diffenbacher, Sydney Patrick, Ashley Rea and Olivia Yoder.
 
Patrick and Julia Mascaro have two assists on the year while Nagucki, Emily Arnold, Nina King, Reagan Reeves and Megan Sikora have each tallied one assist.
 
DEFENSE WINS GAMES: Yoder continues a solid campaign as the leader of the SRU defense, sitting fourth in the PSAC in goals against average (0.61). In eight starts she has now collected 22 saves with a .815 save percentage.
 
SCORING MACHINE: As a unit, Slippery Rock has made its mark as one of the top scoring teams in the PSAC. SRU currently ranks first in goals scored (21) while placing second in scoring average (2.62) and margin of victory (2.00). Through eight matches, SRU has scored two or more goals on its opponent in six games while holding a 21-5 scoring advantage.
 
AGAISNT EDINBORO: Numerous Rock players have found success in past meetings with the Fighting Scots. Edge and Nagucki have both collected a goal along with an assist while Minda and Swope tallied a goal apiece. Yoder has earned two wins while making 16 saves and allowing four goals.
 
ON THE NATIONAL STAGE: Across all of Division II, Edge ranks fifth in game-winning goals (3), 13th in total points and 13th in goals scored. Swope is fifth in the country in assists. As a team, SRU ranks 15th in D2 in goals scored.
 
CORE EIGHT: Eight Rock players have started every game this season in Yoder, Edge, Swope, Minda, Nagucki, Patrick, Mascaro, King and Katy Ericson.
 
HOME SWEET HOME: Since the reign of Giegucz began in 2015, SRU has recorded a 27-11-2 (.695) record at Egli Field, along with outscoring opponents 97-36 with 15 matches being shutouts.
