Each Wednesday of the fall semester we'll be bringing you "Get to Know Them" profiles of current Slippery Rock student-athletes as we shine a light on who our athletes are outside of their sport. Next up, we check in with women's soccer midfielder Georgia Nagucki.

QUICK BIO
Nagucki, a junior economics major from Medina, Ohio, has played in 36 games for The Rock over the first two years of her collegiate career. She was an impact player on last year’s team as she totaled 10 points on three goals and four assists over 22 games. Nagucki assisted on Kayla Swope’s game-winning goal against Edinboro in the PSAC Tournament championship game that gave SRU its first PSAC title since 2012.

IN HER OWN WORDS
Q: What’s the earliest memory you have playing your sport?
A: I remember being about five or six-years old and my mom coaching my co-ed team.

Q: Who are/were your biggest influences?
A: My older brother because he works to make himself a better person and player every day.

Q: What’s the most embarrassing/funny moment that you can recall happening to you during a game or practice?
A: In high school I was trying to hit a long ball on my first touch and I completely missed the ball and fell in front of a huge crowd.

Q: Are you superstitious? What are some your superstitions?
A: I have to tape my shin guards in a certain pattern before each game and during the juggling part of our team’s warmup I have to reach at least 50 touches in a row.

Q: What’s your pregame routine?
A: My pregame routine starts with an extra film session with Jessie and the other midfielder then we blast music and all dance in the locker room and it usually ends with Emma Yoder braiding my hair.

Q: What’s the most important game you ever played in?
A: The PSAC championship against Edinboro because it was a huge game at our home stadium and it was the first time we have won the PSAC since 2012.

Q: What’s your postgame routine?
A: Going out to eat with my family members or my roommates and their families.

Q: Pregame meal of choice?
A: Definitely a banana and a bagel

Q: What’s your favorite thing about your sport? What’s your least favorite thing about your sport? Why?
A: Always being around my teammates and winning hard games together because we all work hard for each other and when we pull out a tough win it makes all the difficult times worth it. My least favorite thing about soccer is the beep test because it just feels terrible.

Q: What teammate are you closest too?
A: I am closest to my three roommates Jordyn Minda, Megan Sikora and Katy Ericson.

Q: Favorite athlete of all-time? Why?
A: Julie Ertz, because she is always the hardest working player on the field and is relentless until the final whistle.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Yes, I have two dogs and a cat.

Q: Where did you go on your favorite vacation and when was it? Who did you go with?
A: My favorite vacation spot has to be Cozumel; we went two years ago with my family for my grandparents 50th anniversary. I really liked it because the water was beautiful and we got to go snorkeling.

Q: Which TV game show or reality show do you think you could win?
A: I could easily win Family Feud.

Q: Let’s say you win a contest where the prize is that you travel to a deserted island and have to stay for 100 days. If you make it to the end, you win $1 million. You can bring three people with you. Who do you bring and why?
A: Rachel Edge for survival, Emma Yoder because she’s a mom, and Katy Ericson for entertainment.
