SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT – The Rock defeated No.16 West Virginia Wesleyan College, scoring two goals in the final six minutes.
Rachel Edge recorded her first goal of 2019 in the 85th minute followed by Minda scoring the game-winner in the 87th minute on an Edge assist.
COMEBACK KIDS – Slippery Rock scored two goals in the final six minutes to secure the come from behind victory over West Virginia Wesleyan. The last Rock victory when the opposing team scored first came in 2016 against Clarion.
MAKE YOUR MARK – Minda leads the SRU offense in shots (8) and shots on goal (6) while being tied for the team lead in goals (1) and points (2) with Edge. Edge and Kayle Swope are tied for the team lead in assists with two.

Sept. 12, 2009 – SRU defeats Clarion 1-0 at home. After 88 scoreless minutes, Julianna Howell headed a cross from Shelby Ward into the back of the net with just 1:11 remaining in regulation to secure a Rock victory.
Sept. 10, 2014 – Slippery Rock records a 1-0 victory over No. 6 California (Pa.) on the road.
Dara Demich scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute while SRU goalkeeper Annabelle Hegeman recorded a shutout with one save.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES

Last time out: Clarion defeated Ursuline College 1-0 on the road. Leann Wydner scored her first goal of 2019 in the 21st minute. Golden Eagle goalkeeper Brigid Stermel recorded a shutout with six saves.
• The Golden Eagles return six seniors for the 2019 season including Stermel, Meliah Roman, Jamey Renninger, Andie Hill, Elle Stine and Krissie Miranda. All saw time in the starting lineup for Clarion last season.
• In five starts in goal last season, Stermel allowed 14 goals on 118 shots with a 2.23 GAA, adding 46 saves and a .767 save percentage.
