ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and one NCAA provisional mark at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet Friday evening.
 
The Rock's lone NCAA mark at the meet came from JJ Ollio, who placed sixth in the invite section of the shot put with a toss of 16.49 meters. Ollio also recorded a PSAC mark in the weight throw with an 11th place finish and a mark of 16.28 meters.
 
Josiah Davis recorded a pair of PSAC marks in field events with a fourth place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.91 meters and a fifth place showing in the triple jump with a leap of 13.41 meters. Jesse Romanchak also hit the PSAC mark in the triple jump with a seventh place finish in the invite section of the event with a leap of 13.83 meters.
 
Slippery Rock had five individuals record a PSAC mark on the track, led by John Marenkovic with a collegiate best of 4:20.63 in the mile.
 
Collin Darby led three runners to a PSAC mark in the 60-meter dash with his time of 7.14 seconds. Jeff Bailey followed in 7.19 seconds and Nathan Kibbie posted a time of 7.21 seconds.
 
Caleb Smithco rounded out the PSAC marks by individuals with a time of 49.97 seconds in the 400-meter dash
 
Smithco also teamed with Darby, Bailey and Isaac Moodie to place sixth in the 4x400-meter relay in a season-best time of 3:18.09.
 
The Rock sent a limited roster of just 10 men to compete at Grand Valley. The majority of the team will return to action next Friday at the Edinboro Last Chance meet, one final opportunity to qualify for the PSAC Championships Feb. 23-24.
