All-Time Series: Edinboro leads 47-43
•
Last Played: Jan. 26, 2019 (Fighting Scots won 85-64 at Edinboro)
SERIES HISTORY vs. EDINBORO
Edinboro leads The Rock in the all-time series 47-43. The Fighting Scots have controlled the series of late, winning 17 of the last 19 games dating back to the 2010-11 season.
LAST MEETING vs. EDINBORO
Brooke Hinderliter produced 21 points to become the 13th player in SRU women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points in The Rock's 85-64 loss at Edinboro on Jan. 26.
Ciara Patterson added 17 points, four assists and three rebounds in the loss as well.
CURRENT PSAC TOURNAMENT PICTURE
With just two weeks remaining in the regular season there are still three PSAC Tournament berths out of the Western Division up for grabs.
Indiana (16-1), California (14-3) and Edinboro (12-5) have already clenched three of the six spots. On the other end of the standings, Clarion (3-14) is officially eliminated and Mercyhurst (6-11) can't afford to lose more than one of its final games in even a best-case scenario for the Lakers.
That leaves four teams - Seton Hill (9-9), The Rock (8-10), Pitt-Johnstown (8-10) and Gannon (7-11) - battling for the final three tournament bids. SHU sits in fourth place and is on the brink of locking up a berth while SRU and UPJ are in a tie for fifth with Gannon currently the first team out of the PSAC Tournament a game behind of The Rock and Mountain Cats in seventh place.
Gannon is idle on Wednesday while Slippery Rock hosts Edinboro. Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown will meet in Greensburg, Pennsylvania in a huge contest.

QUICK HITS
•
Ciara Patterson has averaged 17.3 points per game in three career contests against Edinboro. She went for 17 points, four assists and three rebounds in the first meeting between The Rock and Fighting Scots this season.
•
Brooke Hinderliter has also provided SRU with quality outings against Edinboro with per game totals of 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in her last three outings against the Fighting Scots.
• A victory against Edinboro would give Slippery Rock nine or more league victories in a season for the eighth time in the program's 42-year history and the third time in five years under head coach
Bobby McGraw.
• Good things have happened when Slippery Rock has been able to head into halftime with a lead as SRU is 9-1 when ahead or tied after 20 minutes of play.
• Slippery Rock is 2-8 when committing more turnovers than its opponents this season.
HOME SWEET HOME
Slippery Rock is 6-4 in games played at Morrow Field House this season, but just 4-10 on the road. With three home games left this season, SRU has the chance to finish the year with a winning record at Morrow Field House for the third time in the last five years.
If SRU were to win its final three home games against Edinboro, Salem and Gannon it would mark The Rock's highest home victory total since winning nine games at Morrow Field House in 2001-02.
SCOUTING THE ROCK
• Despite an off game against Clarion,
Brooke Hinderliter enters the Edinboro game still averaging 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the floor and 82.9 percent at the foul line. Hinderliter ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring and sixth in free throw shooting percentage.
•
Ciara Patterson has hit double figures in seven of The Rock's last nine games to up her season scoring average to 12.7 ppg to go with 1.2 steals a contest. In addition to being The Rock's top deep threat with 59 made 3-pointers, Patterson has also totaled 17 of her 38 assists this season in the last seven games.
•
Daeja Quick is Slippery Rock's leader in assists this season (2.8 per game) in addition to checking in as its third leading scorer with 8.7 points per game.
•
Madison Johnson made her first start since Nov. 25 against Clarion and responded with a double-double that upped her season per game totals to 8.6 points and 4.4 rebounds on 40.5 percent shooting.
•
Morgan Henderson is one of three players, along with
Brooke Hinderliterand
Ciara Patterson, to have started all 24 games this season. She is in the midst of a career-year on the glass with 8.5 rebounds per game, the third highest average in the PSAC, to go with a team-high, and personal-best, 20 blocks all the while scoring 7.6 points per game.
•
LeeAnn Gibson provides The Rock with 4.4 rebounds per game in the paint and 6.8 points per night on an outstanding 55.7 field goal shooting percentage.
• After scoring just 11 points in 12 games from Jan. 2 - Feb. 9,
Karington Ketterer has totaled 15 points over The Rock's last two games. She is also second on the team this year in blocks with 13.
JOHNSON SHINING AS OF LATE
No Rock player has played better as of late than
Madison Johnson, who has averaged 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game over her last nine contests while splitting time between the guard and forward positions. She has shot an efficient 47.4 percent (28-for-59) over the run as well.
Most recently, Johnson went for a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds against Clarion. Seven of the 13 rebounds came on the offensive glass, which were the most offensive rebounds for a Rock player in a game since Jazmyne Frost recorded eight offensive rebounds at Clarion on Jan. 29, 2014.
HENDERSON ON THE BRINK OF HISTORY
When she takes the floor against Edinboro on Wednesday,
Morgan Henderson will be playing in the 109th game of her Slippery Rock career, which will tie her for the second most games in program history with former teammate
Mallory Heinle. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Henderson will tie Melissa McKavish's current program record of 110 games played Saturday at Pitt-Johnstown and break the mark at home Feb. 27 against Salem.
PATTERSON SHOOTING UP SINGLE-SEASON 3's LIST
Ciara Patterson went 4-for-8 from 3-point range against Clarion to push her season 3-point total up to 59, already the sixth most in single-season program history. She is on pace to finish the season with 69 3-pointers, which would rank third in Rock history.
HIGHEST OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION IN 17 SEASONS
This year's Slippery Rock team is scoring like few SRU squads have in recent memory. With five games left in the regular season, Slippery Rock is scoring 70.0 points per game, the fifth highest average in the PSAC this season. Slippery Rock has not finished the season scoring more than 70 points per game since 2001-02 (70.5) and The Rock has not finished the year ranked higher than sixth in the PSAC in scoring since 2008-09 (sixth / 68.1 ppg).
KEEP IT UNDER 70
70 has become a magic number for The Rock this season, as they are 10-0 when allowing under 70 points and 0-14 when allowing at least 70 points. In 10 wins this season, Slippery Rock is allowing 61.9 points per game, with opponents shooting 35.3 percent from the floor and 30.1 percent from 3-point range. However, in 14 losses this season, SRU is giving up 85.6 points per game, with opponents shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 34.6 percent from 3-point range.
