SLIPPERY ROCK ON THE GLASS
Since the first two games of the season, when Slippery Rock was missing its top rebounder in
LeeAnn Gibson, SRU has recorded an overall rebounding margin of +3 over its last six games.
Â
Gibson has been great on the glass for The Rock with a team-best average of 7.2 rebounds per game; the ninth highest mark in the PSAC. Gibson has recorded at least seven rebounds in a game in four of her six games played this year including eight against Shepherd.
Â
In addition to her work on the boards, Gibson has also enjoyed what has been the highest offensive production of her career at 8.8 points per game.
Â
Behind Gibson, The Rock has four players who also average at least four rebounds per game in Hinderliter (5.3),
Karington Ketterer (5.1), Johnson (5.0) and
Anyah Curd (4.8).
Â
Overall, Slippery Rock ranks seventh in the PSAC in rebounds per game with 37.8 rpg.
Â
ROCK SOLID FOUL SHOOTING
A staple for The Rock under fifth-year head coach
Bobby McGraw has been its exemplary free throw shooting. Four of the top-10 single-season team free throw shooting percentages have happened on McGraw's watch. This year has been no different as Slippery Rock ranks second in the PSAC in foul shooting at 77.7 percent. Most recently, SRU made 82.6 percent (19-of-23) of its foul shots against Shepherd.
Â
Hinderliter leads The Rock in foul shooting at 88.1 percent (52-for-59) followed by Gibson (78.6 percent / 22-for-28), Johnson (78.6 percent / 33-for-42) and Quick (73.3 percent / 22-for-30).
Â
SUPPLEMENTAL OFFENSE
In addition to The Rock's lead scoring trio, SRU's offense has been supplemented by Gibson, Curd,  Ketterer and
Olivia Fusaro. Gibson and Curd come in at 8.8 points and 4.8 points per game, respectively, with Ketterer (3.6 ppg) and Fusaro (3.3 ppg) rounding out Slippery Rock's top scorers.
Â
AN UPTICK IN STEALS
Slippery Rock made just 17 steals in its first four games this season, but has nearly doubled that total with 32 steals in its last four games.
Â
Quick, Gibson and Hinderliter both average one steal per game with Ketterer (0.9 spg) and Fusaro (0.8 spg) also nearly making a full steal per contest.
Â
DEFENDING THE 3-BALL
Slippery Rock has done a stellar job at limiting opponents from distance this year as The Rock's opposition has shot over 30 percent from 3-point territory just three times this season.
Â
For the year, opponents are shooting 32.2 percent (56-of-174) from deep against The Rock and just 28.6 percent (26-of-91) over the last four games.
Â
