Despite early turnover issues in which Slippery Rock gave possession away five times through the opening six minutes, SRU trailed by just three points at 8-5 midway through the first quarter thanks to a 3-pointer by
Madison Johnson and a pair of free throw from
Brooke Hinderliter, but the Bulls closed the quarter on a 7-1 run to take a 15-6 lead into the second quarter.

Daeja Quick gave The Rock life to start the second quarter by scoring six straight points to cut The Rock's deficit to 15-13. However the rest of the half belonged to Johnson C. Smith as the Bulls stretched their lead out to 45-20 heading into halftime on the way to its eventual 24-point win.

Slippery Rock will look to rebound from Friday's loss with a victory against host Elizabeth City State College 8 p.m. Saturday on day to of the PSAC-CIAA Challenge.
