SLIPPERY ROCK PRIMER
• Overall Record: 1-1

• PSAC West Standings: Tied for sixth place
• Streak: W1
• Head Coach: Bobby McGraw | Sixth season (58-83)

QUICK HITS
• Slippery Rock opened its 2019-20 season with a 1-1 record at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge where it rebounded from a 76-52 loss to Johnson C. Smith University to defeat Elizabeth City State University, 76-75.

• Friday's game will be a rematch from a last year's contest in which Bowie State defeated Slippery Rock, 71-53, at Morrow Field House.

• While Slippery Rock has two games under its collective belts, Friday's game will be the first of the season for Bowie State, which is coming off of a year in which it went 22-6 overall and qualified for the NCAA Tournament where it lost to Indiana University (Pa.), 67-60.

• Based off of last year's opponent winning percentages, Slippery Rock has the fourth toughest non-conference schedule this season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division at .509 (88-83). Through the opening week of competition this season, The Rock's non-conference opponents are a combined 6-6.

• In its first two games of the season, Slippery Rock featured a seven-player rotation with all five of its starters playing at least 29 minutes per game. The Rock's rotation figures to extend on Friday with the return of senior forward LeeAnn Gibson to the mix.

THREE-HEADED MONSTER
The trio of senior guard Brooke Hinderliter, redshirt senior guard Madison Johnson and junior guard Daeja Quick combined to score 90 of The Rock's 128 points (70.3 percent) at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge.

77 STRAIGHT STARTS AND COUNTING
Hinderliter will be making her 78th consecutive start in The Rock's game against Bowie State, the fifth longest streak in program history.

Hinderliter, who has started 85 games in her career overall, is off to a great start to her senior season. She has averaged a team-high 16.0 points per game to go with 5.0 rebounds a night while shooting 46.2 percent from the field overall and 88.9 percent at the foul line.

COMING OUT STRONG
Long established as being a threat to go off for big offensive performances at any time with eight career games with 15 or more points, Johnson has scored 14 points in back-to-back games to start the year for The Rock.

Johnson, who is also tied for second on the team in rebounding at 4.5 per game, is shooting a solid 44.4 percent (8-for-18) from the field overall and a study 73.3 percent (11-for-15) at the foul line. Additionally, four of Johnson's nine rebounds have come on the offensive glass.

STEPPING UP
After a solid first season at The Rock as a sophomore in 2018-19, Quick appears poised for a breakout season this year. Over the first two games of the year, Quick has gone for 15 points per game on impressive shooting performances of 55 percent (11-for-20) from the field overall and 66.7 percent (4-for-6) from 3-point territory.

Not just a scoring threat, Quick has also dished out a team-best five assists to go with 2.0 rebounds per game.

INSTANT IMPACT
Freshman forward Anyah Curd responded well from being thrown into the fire with heavy minutes in the first two games of her collegiate career.

Curd started both games at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge, playing a team-high 36 minutes per game. She responded to the extended court time by scoring 8.0 points per game, grabbing 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks.

Her best game came in The Rock's one-point win against Elizabeth City State where she scored 11 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.

ONE AND ONLY
Curd is the only freshman in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division to average at least 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over the early stages of the season.

KETTERER ENJOYING EXPANDED ROLE
After serving as The Rock's top reserve post player in her first season at SRU a year ago as a transfer from Pitt-Johnstown, senior forward Karington Ketterer moved into the starting lineup for the opening two games of the year last weekend. She pulled down five rebounds against Johnson C. Smith followed by a seven-point, four-rebound effort over 38 minutes against Elizabeth City State.

Her 38 minutes played were a career-high while her seven points was the second-highest scoring output of her Rock career.

MAKING IT COUNT
Redshirt junior guard Kasch Harris made just one shot at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge, but it was a big one.

With 1:26 remaining in regulation, and The Rock trailing Elizabeth City State 72-70, Harris took a pass from Quick and drilled a corner 3-pointer to give Slippery Rock a lead it would never relinquish en route to the one-point win.

3-POINT THREAT OFF THE BENCH
Sophomore guard Olivia Fusaro provided The Rock a deep threat off the bench with two made 3-pointers against Elizabeth City State.

OVERCOMING SLOW STARTS
While the sample size is still small, Slippery Rock will need to buck its early trend of slow starts.

In its first two games, Slippery Rock has been outscored in the first quarter 26-9. SRU trailed Johnson C. Smith 15-6 after the opening 10 minutes in its first game and was also down 11-3 through one quarter of the Elizabeth City State game.

RECORDS WATCH
With virtually her entire senior season still in front of her, Hinderliter's name is littered throughout The Rock's career record book. She comes into the Bowie State game ranked second in program history in free throws made (330), third in offensive rebounds (195), 12th in points scored (1,233), 12th in minutes played (2,477), 19th in total rebounds (472), 19th in steals (98) and 24th in assists (162).

Hinderliter and Morgan Henderson led the way offensively for Slippery Rock with 14 and 12 points, respectively, with Hinderliter also grabbing seven rebounds and making two steals.

Quick and Harris scored six points apiece with Quick also dishing out four assists and collecting four rebounds. Johnson scored five points to go with four rebounds. Brittany Andrews came off the bench to produce three rebounds, two steals and two points.

Slippery Rock shot just 34.5 percent from the field while Bowie State connected on nearly 50 percent (47.1) of its shot attempts.
