YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 13 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and one NCAA provisional mark at the YSU College Invite Friday at Youngstown State University.

The Rock were competing for the second time this indoor season and for the first time since the opening weekend of December.

JJ Ollio recorded the lone NCAA provisional mark of the meet for the SRU men with his fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 16.13 meters. He also placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 16.36 meters.

SRU recorded six PSAC marks in the jumping events Friday, led by
Josiah Davis with a pair of top five finishes. He took second in the high jump with a personal best clearance of 2.00 meters and placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.49 meters. Davis led three SRU athletes to a PSAC mark in the triple jump as
Jesse Romanchak placed 10th with a leap of 13.18 meters and
Jason Goodman was 11th with a mark of 13.17 meters.

Ryan McQuown recorded a seventh place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.52 meters and
Jakob Graff placed fifth in the unseeded section of the pole vault with a clearance of 4.18 meters to round out the top field event performances.

Slippery Rock's best showing on the track came in the 4x400-meter relay, where
Jeff Bailey,
Kayden Kutchman,
Collin Darby and
Caleb Smithco combined to place third in 3:18.78.

Darby hit a pair of PSAC marks in individual events to lead the sprinters. He placed 11th in the 60-meter dash in 7.11 seconds and was 15th in the 200-meter dash in 22.58 seconds. Bailey placed 10th in the 400-meter dash in 50.64 seconds and the PSAC marks were capped by
Nathan Kibbie and
Parker Reed in the 60-meter dash. Kibbie was 15th in 7.15 seconds and Reed followed in 21st in 7.18 seconds.

Slippery Rock will return to action next Saturday at the Edinboro University Invitational.
