SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will hit the road for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at Indiana University of Pennsylvania 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at South Campus Field.

LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock beat Indiana, 1-0, at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium last season on Sept. 6, 2017. In a low scoring affair, SRU and IUP tallied just four shots apiece, but The Rock's Julianna Esposito was able to score off an assist from Skye Kramer in the 58th minute. Kylie Downs posted the shutout in goal making two key saves en route to the victory.
 
SERIES HISTORY
SRU owns an 18-15-2 record against IUP dating back to 1993. The Rock also have a 9-3-0 record in their last 12 games against the Crimson Hawks.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• SOLID START – With its 1-0 victory at Kutztown, SRU improves to 2-0-0 to begin the season. It's the first time the team has started a season with two wins since 2012.    
 
• ON THE ROAD, AGAIN – Slippery Rock will play its second road contest of 2018 following its road game at KU. After their win on the road last Saturday, The Rock improved to 15-10-1 all-time when playing its first road game of the season.
 
• ANOTHER ONE – SRU recorded another shutout victory and has not surrendered a goal this season. Since Jessica Griggs took over the program in 2015, Slippery Rock has recorded 24 shutouts.
 
• HAD TO STAY A LITTLE LONGER – Slippery Rock needed overtime to put away the Golden Bears of Kutztown. Jordyn Minda's goal at 94:29 was the first time The Rock had won in extra time since Nov. 3, 2015 against Shippensburg in the first round of the PSAC Tournament. SRU also won that game, 1-0.
 
• WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM – In just her second game as a member of the Slippery Rock women's soccer team, Minda registered her first career goal. She has been active thus far starting in both games firing two shots and netting a game winner.
 
• WE'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE – Like mentioned before, SRU is off to its first 2-0-0 start to the season since 2012. Similar to those 2012 victories, both were by way of the shutout. In that season, Slippery Rock went 3-0-0 to begin the year blanking its first three opponents.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON HAWKS
• IUP currently leads the PSAC in goals scored after a 7-0 victory at Glenville State last time out. Nikki Bowman, Mahogany Willis, and Gianna Parlavecchio are the team's top goal scorers each tallying two goals apiece.
 
• Hannah Stoof, McKenna Keffel, Kelly Kingerski and Gabrielle DeSousa have also got on the scoreboard this year each registering one goal.
 
• Defensively, IUP has surrendered four goals on 21 shots faced and has a goals against average of 1.29.
 
• Two goalkeepers including Maria Tunney and Madeline Smakulski have played this season. Smakulski has started two games and has a 1.89 goals against average and a 0.500 save percentage. Tunney has started one contest and recorded a shutout while making three saves.
