Rock primed for PSAC games against Lock Haven and Gannon

The Slippery Rock women’s soccer team will host Lock Haven for a PSAC contest 4 p.m. Friday at James Egli Field and then hit the road for a league game 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Gannon.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will host Lock Haven University for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest 4 p.m. Friday at James Egli Field and then hit the road for a league game 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Gannon University.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• LAST TIME OUT – Slippery Rock defeated Edinboro at home on Tuesday, 1-0. Kaitlyn Barackman tallied SRU's game-winner and Kylie Downs made five saves earning the shutout.
 
• DÉJÀ VU – SRU now has five 1-0 victories this season and six shutout wins, which is tops in the PSAC.  
 
• THE OFFENSIVE LEADERS – Jordyn Minda, Rachel Edge and Barackman lead The Rock's attack with six points apiece. Minda has tallied three goals, Edge has posted one goal and three assists and Barackman has recorded three goals.
 
• MORE CONTRIBUTORS – Skye Kramer, Brooke Testa, Madison Johnson, Georgia Nagucki and Reagan Reeves each have recorded one goal this season. Kramer also adds three assists thus far in 2018 and Johnson has managed an assist as well.  
 
• QUITE A DEFENSIVE STINT – SRU has proven to be one of the top defensive teams in the country ranking second in the nation in Division II women's soccer in shutout percentage (.857) and fourth in team save percentage (.944). SRU's six total shutouts are first in the PSAC.
 
• CAN'T KEEP HER DOWNS – Downs has been impressive in goal in five starts this season. She is 19th in the nation in save percentage at .900, tied for first in the conference in shutouts with four and third in the league in goals against average at 0.40.

• Goalkeeper Bree Hilty has started every game for LHU registering 14 saves on 20 shots faced tallying a 1.20 goals against average and a .700 save percentage.
 
• Lock Haven has not scored in a game against Slippery Rock since 2009.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
• Taylor Lewis leads the team in total points with 11 on five goals and one assist. Kayla Bevacqua has totaled six points on two goals and two assists.
 
• Maddie North has three points on three assists and Hannah Hays, Emily Cekella and Nicole Felice have managed one goal apiece. Vanessa Coccurello rounds out the scorers for Gannon with one assist on the stat sheet.
 
• Goalkeeper Hannah Pufpaff has started in six contests for Gannon, has registered 18 saves, has a 0.52 goals against average and a .857 save percentage.  
 
• Gannon and Slippery Rock have split their last four meetings.
