LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock withstood a late charge from West Chester to earn a 72-69 victory at home on Dec. 8.

QUICK HITS
• Slippery Rock was scheduled to play a non-conference game against Salem University on Dec. 17, but the contest was postponed and will be made up later in the season at a date yet to be announced.

• A Slippery Rock victory would give SRU its sixth winning streak of at least three games under Bobby McGraw. The Rock's longest winning streak over the last 14 years is four games, which happened in both 2014-15 and 2016-17.

• A pair of wins against Lock Haven and Bloomsburg would give Slippery Rock its first 4-0 start to PSAC play since the 1995-96 season (23 years).

DOMINANT AGAINST THE PSAC EAST
Slippery Rock has thrived recently in crossover games under head coach Bobby McGraw. Following the WCU win, SRU is now 15-5 (.750) against their PSAC East counterparts over the last four years. So far this season, SRU is 2-0 against the PSAC East with wins against East Stroudsburg (75-68) and West Chester (72-69).

The Rock closes out the 2018-19 crossover schedule with games against Lock Haven (Dec. 18), Bloomsburg (Dec. 19) and Mansfield (Jan. 19).

HINDERLITER HONORED
Hinderliter, a junior guard, earned her first PSAC West Athlete of the Week honor Dec. 10 for her role in helping The Rock to victories over East Stroudsburg and West Chester.

In what was arguably the best two-game stretch of her collegiate career, Hinderliter averaged 26.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game all the while shooting a stellar 58.8 percent (20-for-34) from the field overall and a near perfect 85.7 percent (12-for-14) at the foul line.

TOP GUARD IN THE PSAC?
A strong case can be made that Hinderliter is the top guard in the PSAC this season. Through the first quarter of the season, Hinderliter is averaging 19.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the foul line. Across the league, Hinderliter ranks second in shooting percentage, sixth in scoring, sixth in free throw percentage and 17th in rebounding.

She is the only guard in the PSAC, and one of just two players overall along with California forward Seairra Barrett, to average at least 19 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting at least 50 percent from the field.

DUAL THREAT
Patterson, a redshirt senior guard, has wreaked havoc for opponents on both offense and defense this season in addition to being The Rock's emotional spark plug. She has scored 12.6 points per game thanks in no small part to 20 made 3-pointers, the ninth most in the PSAC, to go with a team-best 15 steals, which translates to 1.9 per game, the 15th highest average in the league.

QUICK COMING ALONG
After a relatively slow start to the season, sophomore guard Daeja Quick has started to show why she was named the 2017-18 East Coast Conference Freshman of the Year at the District of Columbia. Over The Rock's last five games, she has averaged 13 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

LONELY INSIDE
Henderson, a senior forward who will be playing in her 93rd career game against Lock Haven, is one of The Rock's few post players this season. She has started all eight contests with per game averages of 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds to go with a .474 field goal percentage in 27.3 minutes per game while reserve forward junior Karington Ketterer has played 15 minutes per game as well, recording a team-high five blocks off the bench.

The recent return of scrappy junior forward LeeAnn Gibson, who has started SRU's last two games after missing the start of the season due to injury, figures to help ease some of the burden inside as the year progresses.

NEW ROLE FOR JOHNSON
After starting the first six games of the season, redshirt junior guard Madison Johnson has served as The Rock's top reserve over the last two games due to the return of Gibson. Johnson excelled in her new role of "sixth man" against West Chester as she provided The Rock with instant offense off the bench in the form of seven points and two assists on 3-of-4 shooting overall and a perfect 1-for-1 showing from 3-point range to go with two assists and four rebounds over 19 minutes.

WINNING THE TURNOVER BATTLE
A key to Slippery Rock's season this year has been its ability to protect the basketball while causing issues for the opponent. Despite committing a season-high 21 turnovers against West Chester, Slippery Rock still averages just 15 turnovers per game through eight contests, the fourth lowest total in the PSAC, while forcing opponents into 18.6 turnovers per game for a turnover margin of +3.63 which ranks fourth in the league.

Slippery Rock has recorded under 15 turnovers per game for a season just two times in program history; 1988-89 (14.7) and 2015-16 (13.5).

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF FREE THROWS
A staple for any Rock team under McGraw has been its exemplary free throw shooting and this year is no different as Slippery Rock has made 73 percent (116-for-159) of its free throws through eight games. SRU ranks third in the league in free throw shooting percentage and ninth in total foul shots made. Nine of the 13 Slippery Rock players that have attempted at least one foul shot this season are shooting at least 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.

RECORDS WATCH
The Rock's veteran trio of Hinderliter, Henderson and Patterson will be working their way up several SRU career record lists as the 2018-19 season progresses.

Just a junior, Hinderliter currently ranks fifth in school history in career offensive rebounds (156), seventh in free throws made (253) and 20th in points scored (846).

SRU's lone four-year senior, Henderson is ninth all-time in offensive rebounds (139), 10th in defensive rebounds (308), 12th in blocks (44) and 24th in total rebounds (447).

A gifted shooter, Patterson has needed just 47 games in a Slippery Rock uniform to make 101 3-pointers, the ninth most in program history.

ELITE COMPANY
Both Henderson and Hinderliter are on the cusp of etching their names alongside some of the top players in program history as both players are on pace to reach the 500 career point / 500 career rebound plateau this season. To date, only 14 Rock players have reached the elusive milestone all-time.

Henderson will enter Tuesday with 616 points and 447 rebounds with Hinderliter close behind at 846 points and 367 rebounds. The last Rock player to record 500 points and 500 rebounds in a career was D'Asia Chambers, who tallied 1,313 points and 723 rebounds from 2011-15.

Lock Haven is also the second best rebounding team in the PSAC with 44.6 rebounds per game.

• Offensively, Bloomsburg is led by the trio of Alyssa Mack (13.9 ppg), Taylor Montana (11.3 ppg) and Emma Saxton (10.1 ppg). Montana also averages 8.1 rebounds per game.
