PSAC-CIAA CHALLENGE RECAP
Slippery Rock opened its 2018-19 season by going 1-1 at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge in Erie, Pennsylvania. SRU defeated Johnson C. Smith, 71-60, before losing a late lead against Elizabeth City in a 80-79 loss. The 1-1 record marked the fourth time in five years under head coach
Bobby McGraw, that The Rock came out of their opening weekend with a record of .500 or better.

CAUSING HAVOC ON DEFENSE
Slippery Rock has done a remarkable job of taking care of the basketball while forcing opponent miscues over the first two games of the year. SRU will begin Sunday's game averaging just 13.5 turnovers per game while forcing opponents into 25.5 turnovers per game for a PSAC-best +12.0 turnover margin.

The Rock also ranks third in the PSAC in free throw shooting percentage (.775) and fifth in scoring (75.0).

HINDERLITER STEPPING UP
Junior guard
Brooke Hinderliter appears poised to make another leap from her junior year to her sophomore year just as she did last season. Hinderliter has dominated early on this season with per game averages of 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals while shooting 51.7 percent from the field overall and 91.7 percent from the free throw line.

She ranks third in the league in free throw shooting and sixth in scoring.

PATTERSON AUTOMATIC FROM DEEP
Redshirt senior guard
Ciara Patterson has provided The Rock with a much-needed shooting threat from the perimeter. She enters the week second on the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game thanks in large part to eight 3-pointers made on just 18 attempts (44.4 percent). She's made the sixth most 3-pointers of any PSAC player and is fourth in 3-point shooting percentage.

TRANSFERS MAKING IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Over her first two games in a Rock uniform, sophomore guard
Daeja Quick, who was the 2017-18 East Coast Conference Freshman of the Year at the District of Columbia, has averaged 8.5 points on a 46.2 field goal percentage to go with 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Inside, junior forward
Karington Ketterer, a Pitt-Johnstown transfer, is second on the team in rebounds with 5.5 per contest all the while leading the team in blocks with 1.5 rejections per game.

RETURNING FROM INJURY IN FINE FORM
After having to sit out all of last season with an injury, redshirt sophomore guard
Kasch Harris, who came to SRU a year ago from Harford Community College, finally made her Rock debut last weekend. The point guard started both games, scoring 5.5 points points per game to go with 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists a contest.

Madison Johnson is third on the team in scoring at 9.5 points per game. Junior forward
Morgan Henderson played through foul trouble in both games at the PSAC-CIAA Challenge, finishing the weekend with 7.0 points per game on 54.5 percent shooting to go with 4.0 rebounds.

Hinderliter, Patterson and Henderson are all climbing up the Slippery Rock record books in several statistical catagories.

Hinderliter ranks 28th in career points (732), 10th in free throws made (229) and seventh in career offensive rebounds (143). Patterson is slotted 11th in 3-pointers made (89) while Henderson is 11th in offensive rebounds (125), 14th in defensive rebounds (284) and 12th in blocked shots (44).

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Bowie State will play at Gannon on Saturday prior to its game against Slippery Rock.

• Entering its contest on Saturday against Gannon, Bowie State had forced opponents into a staggering 22.7 turnovers per game which has translated into 25.0 points off of turnovers a night.

• Bowie State also holds a solid +8.6 rebound margin against its opposition. Leading the way for the Bulldogs is junior forward Kyaja Williams. Through three games, Williams has averaged 17.3 points per game on a 56.8 field goal percentage while grabbing 9.7 rebounds per game.
