ERIE, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University volleyball team downed Mercyhurst University in four sets (18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-22) on the road Friday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Northwest Division match.
 
The victory, Slippery Rock's third in the last four matches, improves SRU's record to 7-11 overall and 4-6 in the PSAC. Mercyhurst drops to 8-15 overall and 3-7 in league matches with the loss.
 
The Rock's three wins over the last four matches is the program's best four-match stretch since starting the 2017 a perfect 8-0. Slippery Rock has now won two of its last three matches at Mercyhurst dating back to the 2016 season. SRU is 9-8 at Mercyhurst all-time.
 
Slippery Rock will look to continue its winning ways with a victory 2 p.m. Saturday at No. 23 Gannon University.
