Rock set for road test at East Stroudsburg

The Slippery Rock women’s soccer team travels to East Stroudsburg for a PSAC road game 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

ESU beat The Rock at East Stroudsburg in the league tournament last season, 5-0. Slippery Rock registered six shots overall and one shot on goal from Tess Keeley.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT – SRU beat Seton Hill 2-1 Wednesday at James Egli Field. Brooke Testa and Kaitlyn Barackman tallied goals, while Barackman and McIntyre registered assists. McIntyre assisted on both goals in the victory. Goalkeeper Kylie Downs made five saves on six shots faced.
 
STREAKIN' – After dropping the first to games in the series in 1994 and 1995, The Rock has now won eight straight against Seton Hill since 2008. SRU has outscored the Griffins 22-4 since 2008.
 
FRESHMAN FORTUNE – Freshman McIntyre now leads the team in total points after her two-assist game Wednesday. She has recorded eight total points on three goals and two assists.  
 
18 GOALS – After its two-goal performance Wednesday, The Rock now has 18 total goals as a team this season. At this point in 2016, Slippery Rock only had 10 goals through its first nine games. SRU is currently averaging two goals per game in 2017.
 
SHUTOUTS LEADERS – Although they did not record a shutout Wednesday, Downs and The Rock defense have tallied four shutouts this season, which ranks tied for second in the PSAC.

• Jules Sicker leads the Warriors in total points with 15. She's tallied six goals and three assists. Monica Wood ranks second on the roster with eight total points on three goals and two assists.
 
• Following Sicker and Wood, Jessica Woodbyrne, Danielle Cary and Alex Pickett rank tied for third in total points. Woodbyrne has three goals and one assist, Cary also has three goals and an assist and Picket has recorded two goals and three assists.
 
• Goalkeeper Jules Harris has started all nine games for ESU and has recorded 25 saves on 30 shots faced and has a save percentage of .833.
