Lexi Carpenter scored 32 points and
Brooke Hinderliter had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds for SRU in the loss.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
•
Last time out: Slippery Rock led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but was unable to maintain its lead as Mercyhurst rallied to defeat The Rock, 67-48, on Feb. 8 at Morrow Field House. (
Box Score)
• Six of The Rock's nine wins this season have come away from home. The last time Slippery Rock had more than six away/neutral site victories in a season was during the 2005-06 campaign (eight wins).
• With the exception of a 24-turnover game at California on Feb. 1, Slippery Rock has committed 15 or less turnovers in eight of the last nine games. SRU has averaged just 12.8 turnovers in those eight games, down significantly from its season average of 16.4 turnovers a contest.
• SRU's 74.2 free throw shooting percentage is the second highest percentage in the PSAC while its 373 made free throws is the fourth highest total in the league. The Rock's stellar shooting percentage at the line would be the fourth highest in single-season program history if the season ended today while the 373 successful foul shots already rank 10th all-time.
• For just the second time in program history, Slippery Rock has four players with at least 20 made 3-pointers.
Krista Pietropola leads SRU with 37 made 3-pointers followed by Carpenter (29),
Cassidy Wright (27) and
Mallory Heinle (20). The only other year a Rock team had four players with 20 or more made 3-pointers was a season ago. Pietropola's 37 3-pointers are the 18th most in the PSAC this season.
•
C.C. Dixon is having a great finish to her first season at Slippery Rock with per game averages of 17.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and a 46.6 field goal percentage (27-of-58) from the field over the last six games. The run has lifted Dixon's season averages to 8.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Dixon, who leads SRU with a 47.5 field goal shooting percentage, ranks third for SRU on the year in both scoring and rebounding.
• In addition to being the PSAC's second leading freshman scorer at 10.1 points per game, Hinderliter also ranks seventh among all PSAC players in offensive rebounds per game with 2.7 per contest. Her 65 offensive rebounds are already the ninth most in a single-season in program history. Hinderliter has averaged 7.1 rebounds per game over The Rock's last nine contests.
• As her first collegiate season comes to an end, Hinderliter is on pace to rank fourth in Rock freshman history in minutes played, sixth in free throw shooting percentage, seventh in points scored, ninth in total rebounds and ninth in total steals. No other freshman in Slippery Rock history ranks in the top 10 in all five categories.
• Carpenter was recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for her talents in both the classroom and on the court. Carpenter is the first SRU women's basketball player to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team since Tracy Whitling in 2000-01.
• Carpenter leads the PSAC, and ranks 18th in the nation, in scoring at 19.1 points per game while also ranking fourth in assists per game (4.8) and 15th in steals per game (1.7). She also leads the entire PSAC with an 88.0 free throw shooting percentage. Carpenter has the chance to become the first Rock player to win a PSAC scoring title since Missy McKavish did so after averaging a league-best 20.7 points per game in 2002-03.
• For a fourth time this season, Wright had three 3-pointers in a game when she connected on a trio of triples against Mercyhurst. Wright has made seven 3-pointers in the last three games.
• Heinle, The Rock's top rebounder with 6.0 rebounds per game, had a near double-double of 10 points and eight rebounds in addition to a career-high four steals against Clarion earlier in the season. In SRU's last two games against Clarion, Heinle has averaged 11 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
• Following a three-game stretch with just four rebounds,
Morgan Henderson pulled in six rebounds against Mercyhurst. It was her highest total since she recorded back-to-back 10-rebound games against Edinboro and Gannon earlier in the year. Henderson ranks second for SRU on the year with 5.6 rebounds per game.
•
LeeAnn Gibson has played at least 21 minutes in four consecutive games and has averaged 5.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game over the stretch.
• Slippery Rock is the only team in the PSAC to place five players in the league's rebounds per game rankings. Heinle leads the quintet in 24th place followed by Henderson (31st), Dixon (37th), Hinderliter (41st) and Pietropola (43rd).

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
•
Last time out: Clarion dropped its third consecutive game with a 73-68 overtime loss to Gannon University on Feb. 11. Delrika Jones-Carey and Tyra Polite had 19 and 18 points, respectively, in the loss. (
Box Score)
• The majority of Clarion's scoring attack comes from the trio of Polite (16.6 points per game), Jordan Bekelja (11.3) and Amesha Harden-Pullium (10.4). Jones-Carey (7.4) and Jen Straw (6.0) both averaged over five rebounds per game as well.
• Clarion ranks seventh in the PSAC in points per game (69.7) with an offense that relies heavily on 3-point attempts. The Golden Eagles enter Wednesday's game ranked third in the Atlantic Region in 3-pointers made (196), third in 3-point attempts (591) and eighth in 3-point shooting percentage (.332).
• The Golden Eagles are also the second leading rebounding team in the PSAC with 40.3 rebounds per game.
• In its first game of the season against The Rock, Clarion made 15 3-pointers and shot 41.7 percent from deep while also making 24 of 28 free throws. Polite scored 24 points and Harden-Pullium had 20 points. Clarion's 28 free throw attempts were the second most by a Rock opponent this season.
