SCOUTING THE ROCK
Last time out: Clarion made 15 3-pointers en route to an 83-81 victory over Slippery Rock on Jan. 11. (Box Score)

• Slippery Rock is 3-2 against PSAC East teams so far this season. SRU defeated Kutztown, Cheyney and Millersville while losing to Shippensburg and West Chester. Over the last two years, Slippery Rock is 7-4 in crossover games.

• Following an abnormal 5-of-10 performance from the free throw line against California, Slippery Rock returned to form against Clarion, going 16-of-20 from the foul line to raise its PSAC-best free throw shooting percentage to .748. Carpenter (87.6 percent), C.C. Dixon (83.3), Brooke Hinderliter (80.5), LeeAnn Gibson (77.3) and Carly Lutz (75.0) all shoot at or above 75 percent from the field.

• The Rock's 258 made free throws are the third most in the conference this season. SRU is on pace to make 452 free throws, which would be the second most in Rock single-season history behind only the 1990-91 team that made 484 foul shots.

• Slippery Rock has already won five games away from Morrow Field House this season. A victory on Saturday would give SRU its most road/neutral site victories in a season since the 2008-09 team won six (five true road games and one neutral site contest).

• Carpenter had another great all-around game against Clarion, scoring 32 points, grabbing five rebounds, passing out five assists and making two steals. The 32 points matched her career-high and is the eighth highest single-game point total by a Rock player in program history.

• Carpenter enters the weekend ranked third in the PSAC in scoring (17.8 points per game, fourth in assists per game (4.9) and second in free throw shooting percentage (.876). Carpenter, who also averages 1.7 steals per game, is one of just three players in the Atlantic Region along with California's Mikki Glenn and Glenville State's Paris McLeod to average at least 17 points, four assists and one steal per game.

• Hinderliter recorded the first double-double of her career with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Clarion. Over the last six games Hinderliter has averaged 14 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 54.3 percent (25-of-46) from the field and 82.5 percent (33-of-40) form the free throw line. Hinderliter, a four-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week honoree, currently ranks second amongst all PSAC freshmen in scoring this season at 10.4 points per game. Only Sierra Taylor (11.8) of Kutztown has a higher scoring average.

• Hinderliter's 20 points were the second most points scored by a Rock freshman in the last 11 seasons, Alex Beatty scored 23 points in her first collegiate season against PSU-Beaver on Dec. 3, 2009.

• Heinle, who averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game and ranks third on the team in scoring (8.0 ppg), has converted five of her 14 made 3-pointers this season over The Rock's last two games. She went a combined 5-for-9 from deep against California (Jan. 9) and Clarion (Jan. 11). In addition to scoring 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds against Clarion, Heinle also made a career-high four steals against the Golden Eagles.

Morgan Henderson ranks second on the team in rebounding (6.1) and fourth in scoring (7.6 ppg). One of The Rock's primary post presences, Henderson has also shown the ability to step outside as of late with four made 3-pointers in her last six attempts.
