THE OPENING TIP

• To climb up to sixth in the PSAC West standings, and earn the conference tournament bid that comes with the spot in the standings, SRU must win its final three games and hope that Seton Hill University (13-12, 9-10 PSAC West) loses its last three games.
• Clarion comes to Morrow Field House with a record of 8-18 overall and 8-12 in conference play. The Golden Eagles also must win out to have any chance of qualifying for the PSAC Tournament.
• Slippery Rock has won three consecutive games over the Golden Eagles, including a 71-58 victory at Clarion University earlier in the season on Jan. 16, 2016. Ciara Patterson scored a game-best 20 points and Krista Pietropola added a season-high 15 points in the win.

Slippery Rock dropped a 90-75 PSAC West decision to Indiana University (Pa.). Lexi Carpenter and Patterson paced The Rock with 26 and 20 points, respectively. It was the first time all season that two SRU players scored at least 20 points in the same game.

LAST MEETING AGAINST CLARION
Patterson scored 20 points and Pietropola added a career-high 15 points to lead Slippery Rock to a 71-58 victory at Clarion Jan. 13, 2016. Hardiman registered The Rock's only double-double of the season to date with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Slippery Rock matched a season-high with 44 rebounds. Clarion's 58 points were the fourth fewest points allowed this season.

FAMILAR FACES
The only two Clarion and Slippery Rock players to played basketball at the same high school are Rock sophomore Lindsay Homan and Clarion freshman Taylor Moltz. Both players hail from Oil City, Pennsylvania and played their high school basketball at Venango Catholic. Homan played three minutes in SRU's win at Clarion earlier in the season and Moltz scored two points in eight minutes for the Golden Eagles.

ROCK TRENDS
• Hardiman enters the final games of her college career having already recorded 313 defensive rebounds, the eighth most in Rock history. At her current pace she'll finish her time at The Rock ranked sixth all-time in defensive rebounds.
• Patterson has arguably been SRU's most consistent scorer in the second half of the season. She has averaged 16.2 points per game over the last 11 games to raise her season scoring average to 12.8 a game.
• Patterson has also been The Rock's top deep threat with 47 made 3-pointers this year, the 15th most in a Rock single-season.
• Carpenter's 26-point showing against Indiana bumped her points per game average for the season up to 16.5 points per game. Only one guard in their first year with the program (transfers or true freshman) has averaged more than 16.5 points per game in program history; Shelbey Wardman averaged 16.8 ppg as a freshman in 1998-99
• Heinle is shooting 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from the field over The Rock's last five games.

BOUNCE BACK GAME
After being held without a point for two straight games, Hardiman bounced back to match her season-high with 13 points against Indiana in addition to pulling in five rebounds. Even when she wasn't scoring, Hardiman was still The Rock's leading rebounder; she had a total of 12 rebounds during her scoreless stretch; more than any other Rock player. On the season, Hardiman is averaging 6.0 points per game and a career-high 5.4 rebounds per game.

ONE OF FIVE
Carpenter is one of just five players in the Atlantic Region to average at least 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Carpenter currently has per game averages of 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals.

The other four players in the region to reach those same minimums are Virginia Union's Kiana Johnson (28.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 9.1 assists, 4.5 steals), West Chester's Brittany Sicinski (16.8, 5.3, 4.7, 1.6), California's Miki Glenn (19.0, 4.4, 6.0, 3.2) and Notre Dame College's Martha Nagbe (17.5, 5.5, 4.5, 4.3).

800 POINTS, 350 ASSISTS, 200 REBOUNDS
Through 102 career games, Erica Aiello has amassed 783 points, 353 assists and 219 rebounds. With three games remaining in the regular season, she needs 17 points (5.7 per game) to become just the third player in program history to record 800 points, 350 assists and 200 rebounds.

Aiello is 33 minutes away from moving into fourth place all-time at Slippery Rock in career minutes played and 10 assists away becoming the fifth player in program history with at least 362 career assists.

SCOUTING CLARION
The Golden Eagles enter tonight's game ranked 15th in the PSAC in scoring (62.8) and 16th in points allowed per game (70.7). Clarion has attempted 536 3-pointers, the most of any team in the PSAC. The Golden Eagles feature a balanced scoring attack in which four players average at least 10 points per game in Tania Holmes (13.8), Tyra Polite (13.1), Delrika Jones-Carey (10.2) and Jordan Bekelja (10.1). Jones-Carey also averages a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game. Tania Holmes had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in CU's last game at Edinboro.
